In all fairness they're called Corpse-eater. What can you expect?
Besides its hardly a new thing, its just cliche lyrics. Every genre has them.

It's kind of sad that a lot of Death Metal band feels the need to use all that gore in their lyrics.
In the past it always kept me away from Brutal Death Metal... but recently I said to myself that it was sad to stay away from great bands like Cannibal Corpse just cause of their lyrics and album covers...
They are awesome musicians and they sure have fucking nice vocals, but the gore lyrics are kind of wasting the whole thing. Some may say that this is just the way Death Metal should be, but nice lyrics are always cool. I dunno if I'm expressing myself properly... but I think that it makes the music way better and way more intelligent when there's actually some work on the lyrics and when there is a deeper meaning to the lyrics.

There's a french band we've been discussing for a little while now. Some of the guys say that it's hardly metal, but I still think that there's some black metal influences in Neige's writting.

Check it out, the band is named Alcest
If your more interrested in black metal, their older stuff would sound more like it.

Otherwise you named all the other "calmer metal bands" I listen to (Agalloch, Ulver).

Maybe you could check single titles by some artists.
Helloween - Keeper Of The Seven Keys
Symphony X - The Odyssey
DragonForce - Trail Of Broken Hearts

You could also check some titles from the album Images And Words by Dream Theater.

The songs I listed are not all "relax" but I still think that they fit well as background music.

But I doubt that this is what your looking for, since these bands don't have the melancholic sound of Ulver or the more atmospheric sound of Agalloch.

Aren't headaches and severe backaches just wonderful?

I can't find my Vicodin and each passing second I go without it, I just get worse and worse. I really need some right the fuck now.

Aside from that, I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care about gory and macabre lyrics as much as ones that are written in abhorrently bad English. For instance:

You're sexy blond with blue eyes
You're all night sexy dancer

Want to get together?
Porno star!

My pants drop to the ground
I can go get fucked up

Want to get together?
Porno star!

You suck a stupid fucking slut
I really want you to pay

Want to get together?
Porno star!

We're rocking metal motherfucker
We don't like change underwear
We don't like to wash our hair
Waiting to go out on tour

We're rocking metal motherfucker
We don't give a fuck

I never have to work
We're playing sexual metal
I stay at home and masturbate
I fucking need a porno mag
---
Dick is fucking big
Pussy is fucking tight
Anal fuck is waiting
Big dick's might

Dick is fucking big
Fuck off shaving pussy

Put it in bitch mouth
It will makes you to ill
Sexual metal holocaust will
Crush poser gay!

Dick is fucking big
Fuck off shaving pussy

I will please entry anus
Oh my god! Give me spicy pussy
Pussy is good smell
Shit is bad smell

Dick is fucking big
Fuck off shaving pussy

etc.

Here we go, recommend album in brackets.

Age of Silence (Acceleration)
I think they have a fairly laid back sound, though its not really laid back music, it just feels like it.

Kayo Dot (Choirs of the Eye).
For the most part they're fairly melodic, you get the occasional dissosant bit but its mainly in passing.

Om (Conference of the Birds - cause it has At Giza on - check it on Last.fm).
Possibly the most relaxing Metal band possible. Just hyponotic basslines and soothing vocals... and they're called Om for fucks sake, as in what the Buddhists chant when they're getting into the zone. Its an apt name.

Warning (Watching from a Distance).
Though its less relaxing and more 'too depressing to bother doing anything else'.

Earth (Bees Made Honey in the Lions Skull).
Very relaxing, 'nuff said.

I bolded Om cause they're ace.
Earth will be very fitting for your wants too.

But like, fuck Metal and listen to Sigur Rós or something.

I agree with all of these except Warning, though I don't disagree with that one either.

Also try Maudlin of the Well (better than Kayo Dot, which is saying a lot) Tides, and Isis. also, Aarni and Umbra Nihil, to an extent.

But like, fuck Metal and listen to Sigur Rós or something.

this, too, And for more post-rock, there's Godspeed You! Black Emperor, a Silver Mount Zion, Hangedup, Hrsta, Explosions in the Sky, the Samuel Jackson Five, and Do Make Say Think.

Also, here's just a couple of artists of varoious genres I listen to when I'm relaxing or sleeping.

Radiohead
the Soundbyte (Norwegian avant-garde music)
Boards of Canada (electronic, idm, trip hop, or some shit)
Rei Harakami (electronic whatever)
Autechre (more electronic something or other)
Plaid (see above)
a few Massive Attack songs, but not many
Noriyaki Asakura (ambient, folk, rock, I dunno what else)

Also, for specific relaxing songs by metal bands, I can think of the Tranquilizer Song (David Harrow Mix) by sigh and Barb Wire Smile (Snap Ant version) by Fleurety. That's all I've got right now.
