Also I like depressive black metal. I like the way it sounds, I like the atmosphere, I like the vocals. But most of all, I love the two minute intros :P

The worst thing possible has happened. Warning have split :(.
They were the only band I actually wanted to see before I die. Now it seems it'll never happen.

Rhapsody's future isn't looking to good either.
'Hi to all, we would like to inform everybody that actually the RHAPSODY OF FIRE band activity relatively to album releases and touring has been suspended, independently from our will, for an unspecified period of time. We are sorry for that. Further news will be made available as soon as we will be in the conditions to release them. Thank you for understanding.'

I heard about this a while ago and was disappointed to hear the bad news. Although I'm not as interested in their music as I was 3 years ago, I still find it a shame how things have turned this way for them.

Yes. Idio is the one who suggested Yearning to the hell (and me) a while back. If your feet were dicks I would give you a perpetual foot message. I can be no more thankful, it is impossible.

Damn. I don't think I really stood much of a chance of seeing them live and I doubt they would have tried to top Watching... but it's still disappointing to hear I guess.

Folk music is kinda boring IMO, but adding metal to it can have awesome results. Hell, I would eat steak and ice cream.

I could see L'Yznk being a Khajiit name.
Yes while some bands don't appear to have a bright future, other bands are doing better than ever.
Stratovarius is apparently back together with some new members without Timo Tolkki and I heard a rumor that Acid Bath is coming back together.
Listened to Come My Fanatics and I think its more listenable than Dopethrone (in that I didn't get bored) but at the same time it lacks songs like Dopethrone and Funeralopolis that are just brilliantly.
I prefer Dopethrone in every way, but for some reason preferred listening to CMF.
Maybe its just a testament to the quality of the tracks on Dopethrone that I do love.

Can anyone in here who's ever messed with Fruity Loops clue me in on how to mix tom's so that they don't sound like St. Anger? This is bullshit.

Why D3NTATUS? Why? Why am I part of your sig?
So it's -10 and im feeling mighty wanky with......

And just listen to real viking folk music, and you'll realise that some of Equilibrium's stuff really sound like some. Even if some folk music is really dark and heavy... You just have to understand, that just like in metal, in folk music, there is a large variety of styles. And if you think kids would like this, just try making some listen to it... I doubt they will find it "lightweight"
I can make a difference between entertainement and art. That's why I can say that I do listen to some really average kind of music, just for fun. There's a few band that I do not consider as being awesome bands that I do like listenning to sometimes.
But I consider that there is work putted on the songs written by Equilibrium, and that they have one of the best Folk Metal vocalist.

Ok, but PenisClown seems to believe that I will eventually start listenning to better music, just like if it was a natural evolution. And that's what's pretty sad.
lol? Why? Show me a good black metal vocalist, and I might consider that my argument was shit.Your argument is shit because you're using Black Metal as an example of how someones taste is shit (hypocrisy much?) when that person (me) doesn't like Black Metal.
I took a guess, seing how you were backing up PenisClown on all he said.
And again, what makes a good vocalist is subjective. Look a Bjork for example.
subjective? Maybe it is, but if absolutely anyone can do that kind of vocals, than how is the guy an
out-standing vocalist?
lol... you fucking got the fact that I was just kiddin, right?Of course you were... :)
not all my post was a joke though.
And Black Metal is not at the top of the ladder, it's not better or worst than any other Metal genre or sub-genre.To you its not.
I like it. Thanks to you guys, I found a way to like Xasthur!

Link me, I couldn't find them on the archives or wikipedia. I'd go on Myspace but there's probably so many bands by that name that I wouldn't be sure whether the band I had found was the correct one.
If you could chose any ten bands(Whether they are still together or not and whether they are metal or not doesn't matter) to play for an hour each at a music festival you went to.
What ten bands/artists would they be?
Helloween
Blind Guardian
Opeth
Dream theatre
Sonata arctica
Nightwish with tarja
Pyramaze with Lance
Gamma ray
Symphony X (As long as they play the Odyssey)
Edguy
You guys?

Actually change that to Iron Maiden.
Everybody listens to them but they'd still be awesome to be see live.
And i'm also trying to get into some folk metal, recommend me some folk metal bands.
I don't know much about most folk metal, but try to avoid cookie monster bands.

I saw Symphony X play The Odyssey live... and it's not that awesome. I think it's much more a song that you like listenning to on studio record. But they didn't play Evolution... and that's just not right !!!
Also, Tarja is a diva, she sings well... but she loves herself way too much...
But your list is awesome!

When I went to go see Marduk there was a freak group of conservatives trying to get them banned. Trying being the key word >=)
Good topic though, anyone had to miss a show because the act got banned from their region?

Nope but rotting christ was offensive to some Christians so they had to take down the poster in the offical palladium, the only way to know that they would be playing was by looking online. :P
