Most metal musicians aren't extremely concerned about money, most of them have already got what they need. That dude might have wanted a different and better Keytar thingy so he destroyed it for fun.

I love it. But I love all his music. I've been a fan of theirs for years and I love the black metal that's been coming out that's been trying to draw from the roots of the genre.

Me too man, but does it really compare to the first three? I'm definitely going to get it now.

To be honest, I haven't heard a lot of stories about metal musicians destroying instruments. The only artists I know of that are famous for it are Pete Townsend and Kurt Cobain. What other artists break their shit, I'm kinda curious now.

It's just for show I'd say, something to get the crowed going. Maybe it was a cheap shitty knock-off?

I, personally, would never break my own guitar, I've broken 3 guitars in my life, and all were acoustic.
But I understand that guys like Kurt Cobain and so on, Are all playing pretty simple music, and pretty much all play stratocasters or something.

I would break a Stratocaster.

Especially if I was famous, It could get me even more known, get the fans to go crazy, and I could just buy another one, and didn't have feelings for the instrument.

personally, I <3 my Xiphos, could never do anything to harm her!

well, the video I saw was a show of Sonata Arctica. Soooo, now you know that Arctica's keyboardist is one of those "look at me I'm fuckin hardcore!" kind of guys.

That's exactly what I was talking about. I think it's just ridiculous to show everyone that you are so goddamn famous and cool that you can break an instrument every night during the tour.

I think nobody should destroy an instrument during a show, no matter what the reason would be...

You sick bastard :'( I don't think i could bring myself to break a guitar, like ever. Even if it was one of them emo band signature ones. I'd just strip it and pay to get it re-painted/whatever.

Complaining does nothing, trust me on this.

Despite what I said to Ryan, I actually agree with you. Infact, that's the reason why I haven't even bothered sending a complaint to Zavvi or HMV. I know it'll get pretty much ignored and won't affect how they treat the metal section at all. However, if Ryan wants to send a complaint, I won't stop him.

they can at least know the difference between indie and death metal. Seriously the guy I talked to couldn't even do that.

You're kidding, right?

I thought there would have been a fair amount of artists in metal breaking their instruments like that. I'm not so big on the idea of breaking your stuff and if I was in a band, I wouldn't even think of destroying my instrument, but it can be amusing when others do it.

I've recently acquired the Aussie band; The Amenta's discog.

Very good Industrial Death Metal, the first album 'Occasus' is definitely their best being the closest to straight-forward Death Metal but 'n0n' is a lot more Industrial making it somewhat a different direction.

Haven't seen any of you guys talk about them here before.
So,
Here's a taste from Occasus and n0n

I really dig Into the Archaic by Falls of Rauros. I had listened to it a few times before but this time it finally set in. It's great Black/Folk. You'd probably like it Ponos.

Man.... :(

Btw, I'm listening to Spawn of Possession for the first time right now...excellent Brutal Death. Recommended.

Also, next concerts I'm going to see:

Some Hardcore/Crust concert my cousin wants to see (Wednesday), then Hate Eternal + Misery Index on the 17th (gonna be quite a hot show) and a few local black metal bands in the next few weeks. Can't wait, haven't been to a concert in a while :)

I'd also love to see Cannibal Corpse in February, but Children of Bodom are the mainband...I mean, why? :(

Still, the beast of Erik Rutan is interesting enough ^^

I'm still contemplating that issue. If I don't get a job when I'm back at uni or have some prospects then I'll have to miss it for financial reasons.

And to answer your question: Its because they have their very own Hate Crew.
Can't be said for many bands :).

Read the post, i was going to rip into them because they said 'ITS LIKE DEATH METAL, BUT LESS HEAVY'. It's fine if they want to listen to metalcore, i don't give a shit, but when they start making the other genres look bad/whatever word you wanna use, they need to be told right from wrong.
