Tyr, Alestorm and Suidakra are coming here this March and tickets are $15. Might as well go, and it's on a Sunday.

They're decent (and pretty talented), but they aren't really my thing.

I heard someone calling em "blackcore"
which is pretty much what they are :P
they do use some "core" stuff in their work but still, they really are black metal.

They're not Metal.

I know it's not at all uncommon in metal, but that's a weird juxtaposition.

Mudvayne (sometimes typeset as MuDvAyNe) is an American metal band from Peoria, Illinois formed in 1996. The band comprises founder, and frontman Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matthew McDonough. Signed onto Epic Records, Mudvayne has released three studio albums, two compilations, two DVDs, and are releasing their next album, The New Game, on November 18, 2008.

It's not that weird.
They're both Progressive Death Metal bands who incorporate clean/Jazz parts in their music.

Wikipedia isn't a reputable source for anything. Least of all genres.
You see its editted by people like you, who think Mudvayne are Metal.
i got one of the most totally random but potentially awesome messages on my myspace music page yesterday from 'heathen pride' metal festival in spain-
We're interested in you for our serious band project,
Folk Metal and other influences:
The project that I propose is something quite serious,I have been working many years in the music, at the moment I have my own discography with mainly I distribute material for all Europe, promotion and designs, the releases will come soon.I have enough contacts and enough experience. Nowadays, I organize the biggest festival of they Pagan Metal in Spain, in the which I could play in live this project if it was possible to carry out. This festival would be some of the first ones in arriving here ssince like you will know this style in Spain it is not very well introduced, hence cost a lot of work to find musician. When having many contacts with other discography seals of outside of Spain besides radios, magazines and other companies, will give a great promotion and helps to this project.
this comes as a huge fucking surprise seeing as though all i have on my myspace is a few accoustic tracks, nothing remotely 'pagan metal'. i dunno how theyd expect me to fit but hey, suppose i shouldnt turn down a good opportunity, ill ask for more details.
RZZZZZZ

thats what im thinking, its likely they just searched for 'keywords; folk, metal' and my name turned up. plus whilst i shouldnt be too judgemental the guys broken english makes it seem a bit unprofessional, and the whole mesage is quite ambiguous as to what he's actually saying.
but still, i sent a reply asking for details and why they thought i was suitable. i'll see what happens.

That may be, but they both sound dramatically different from each other and have dramatically different intentions both musically and lyrically.

Here.
They're going to be at the Highline Ballroom, which (if you haven't been there before) is on 16th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues.

I know that we're all fans of Acid Bath, but does anyone else listen to Agents of Oblivion?

Ye i know
Their Genre is metal, thats what im saying
their Metal, not Death metal. or any other genre's of metal

What you're saying is incorrect.
their Metal
You're wrong there.
not Death metal. or any other genre's of metal
You're right, there.

You would more suit Mudvayne to 'hard rock' or to an extent 'hardcore'. Personally id just call it nu-metal and be done with it.
Point is, Mudvayne does not = metal.

I don't know if you realized this, but we're not going to suddenly drop a subject because you say so.
However, I don't have anything else to say on the matter.

I haven't because I haven't found any of their albums anywhere. Trust me, I would be the first to jump on the nearest Agents of Oblivion album, but I can't find any.
Slow desolation like a funeral procession
The lovely one screams like she's caught between stations

That is a point.
But you don't want bands that sound the same anyway, do you? If Opeth's support was a band ripping off Opeth then I'd just be bored. If the band supporting Opeth was Cynic, I'd be very happy :P.
And despite me agreeing with you, I still stand by the point that Prog Death bands are good with Prog Death bands. And the fact their styles differ is only a benefit to that :).

Was Acid Bath the band I said I wouldn't like and tend ended up realising I was wrong? I can't remember... but you responded to my post with 'You're funny'.
And err, I saw a band tonight at a kind of Rock/Metal type gig (where only one band was Metal) and they were awful. Imagine a musical gangband featuring the worst qualities of Trivium, Korn, Slipknot and U2.
I'd rather be a poseur than support such awful music :P.
