I bought my Opeth ticket this morning... well afternoon, but I just got out of bed :). Third time of seeing them this year. And this time they have a lovely band supporting them... Cynic :D. I'm expecting a hell of a show from those guys. Very, very excited.

I wouldn't call it a growl, it's a shriek. But I love it. Pretty much everytime I go in the bathroom I sing something alá Chuck :).

So all the talk of Acid Bath made me look into them, and I must say I enjoy it. Planning on acquiring some shortly.

It lead me to Isis too which I just got the albums In The Absence of Truth and Oceanic.

What are Acid Bath? The name sounds Sludge.

Týr's Ragnarok came through the post today. I've been listening to it (of course) and it's good so far, but I still need to listen to this album a few more times before giving my final verdict on it. Also, I decided to listen to Elvenking's demo album yesterday and I love it. :)

Elvenking is one of my favorites... They have that unique folk sound to them.

Of course I do.

Recommend me some stuff from your vast library, oh great Bahamut. I like stuff like Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, etc...not stuff like Iron Maiden and the like.

I listened to a bit of Thou Art Lord's albums, DV8 and Orgia Daemonicum and didn't like what I heard. I skipped around both albums and ended up pretty disappointed. I thought Eosforos was pretty kickass, so I was hoping for the same from these albums.

I like a couple bands, not much. As for bands that haven't already been recommended, I think Dark Moor, Stratovarius, and Zandelle are all good. But better than those, in my opinion, is the Lord Weird Slough Feg, based on what I heard from them. Sky Chariots is an awesome and very catchy song.

They're Prog Metal really. But its a fine line and their songs are epic and catchy enough to be considered Power Metal too.

I neglected Edguy as I didn't feel they cut it as 'epic' enough.
And Manowar I completely forgot about. But they're epic in a different way... an oiled up, leather thong way.

How is that a shame? Despite the sludge label, they defy any type of classification. Acid Bath combines Doom, Sludge, Stoner, Folk, and Blues to create a sound of their own.

It's hardly spot on then is it? Which is as I was led to believe. And I'm not fond of Sludge.

I personally think When The Kite String Pops is the best album, but both are awesome, you can't go wrong really. I'm listening to them right now actually, and I think I will listen to them quite often from now on.

Lucky! Opeth would be a band I'd love to see live, and I was surprised at how underrated and awesome Cynic is. I heard a new album is coming out, I hope it's true.
