The only black metal I listen (as of now until I decide to check the rec's) is Rotting Christ. The others who are active right now, don't really like it so much. We could talk about it or whatever, just bring it up.

I got Cynic's new album, Traced in Air. Holy fuck is this amazing. Download it now. The vocals are a mix between an airy/earthy singer songwriter and a cool as fuck old school growl. GET IT NOW.

Ha weird, black metal helps me concentrate as well! Dark Funeral does have some awesome riffs, my favorite album off them is Secrets of the Black Arts, even though every 3 seconds he screams "Sataaaaaaan" haha

Which is why i like em, some of the songs just get a bit boring after a while but then you have the awesome riffs that come along (Thus i have spoken, Heart Of Ice), and i can just concentrate and get work done.

I've listened to one full BM album in my life, was the other day, Mayhem's live album and I thought it was alright. And I like some Immortal and some Emperor but it's not a preference of mine. But I have it on GC's good word that I'll like some of the Greek stuff.

The only times when I listen to black metal is whenever I try to get into it. Again, I do come across some stuff that I find pretty good (I did enjoy some of the tracks by Sigh I got ages ago), but with so much to get, I end up forgetting them. :(

Those are my exact thoughts on music in general. No matter how much I dislike a certain genre/artist, I will not go "Oh, this isn't music." Saying certain music isn't music just because you don't like it is a load of crap. Whatever anyone likes that I don't like, I'm not really bothered.
