Dethklok--fake but acceptable
Dimmu Borgir--crap but acceptable
Children of bodom--acceptable
Devildriver--borderline
Slipknot--not acceptable
Arch Enemy--crap but acceptable

You need four more bands, bud, and you better hope they're metal.

I do, but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

Blackwater park is still my favourite :)

I actually thought it was pretty awesome, it has a lot of heavy guitar parts/solos in it.

I've never actually listened to BP, my favorite is My Arms, Your Hearse.

I haven't head that one, might have to download it.

Blackwater park (the song, not the album) is probably one of Opeths best songs imo.

Demon of the Fall is probably my favourite song by Opeth.

Don't even think about it. This thread is enough. A Metal Hell forum on the BBS would see a lot of morons bashing metal. If they did make that forum, I wouldn't even think about going there.

My favourite Opeth song would be The Moor.

a fun fact for you opeth fans; my arms, youre hearse is a quote from a song by comus called 'drip drip'. probably the most brutal acid-folk band ever. that sounds quite stupid but there were very few folk bands singing about evil demigods raping young maidens and the like back in the early 70's.

I uploaded some audio of mine, its something I did for my coursework (day of deadline - thus some sounds (ie, guitar/violin, etc) sound poor).

But tell me what you think, its not Metal so please don't bother telling me what you think if you can't except that. But there are people here with open minds, so I'm aiming this at you :).
Linky!

pretty good, some nice melodies. like you explained the electronic instrument sounds can be off putting but you're working with what you've got and for the time restraint too thats fine. making a bit more out of the dynamics of the piece and maybe a bit of rythmic change wouldve been good. still, its a solid piece, it'd be nice to hear a recreation of it by a proper band.

Yes but I like the kind of orange clothes they were, make the effect that they are slightly insane or something. Like sunn0))) , it is their image that makes it for them.

I liked their first album, but when I heard and saw songs from their Vol. 3 album on the radio and TV, I wasn't all that impressed. Haven't heard the newest couple of songs from their newest album coming out though. They were a good transition band for me, before I got into deeper and more underground stuff.

I like Slipknot. But I do not like the fact that some people refer to them as Metal.

Also, their albums get progressively worse. Their demo and their first album were good because they were basically saying, "We wear masks, we're agressive to the max, and we don't give a fuck about anything. Can we has fan following nao plz?" And sure enough, they got one. Then they went the way of Metallica, Linkin Park, Trivium, and numerous other bands that nowadays can be considered 'shit'. With Iowa, someone must have said (probably the sample guy or the dude who plays that ONE bass drum, who I still don't see the point of) "Hey guys, I've got an idea. Let's tone down our masks, drop the f-bomb every two seconds, and use conventional time signitures and drop tunings!"

The rest of the band were probably stoned or something, because it appears they agreed.

That´s a pretty obscure Megadeth song.

It was on Duck Dodgers.

That means it automatically wins.

Despite being exactly like Hangar 18 and Return to the Hangar in regards to song structure.
In order:
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
*enter a few minutes of monotonous shit here*

Fair enough

Where were you when it happened? Where could you be found?
Were you at the front of the stage or in the underground?
From SF to Old Bridge, New York back to LA
The world of metal changed forever, back in the day

Well, that was back in the day and if you weren't there
It doesn't matter anyway, because you wouldn't understand

Live to die and die to play, every day and place
Leave a path of metal across the world from stage to stage
