Two reasons:
1. Because John Petrucci is sexy (in a pretty way in the past, and buff way now).
Speaking of John Petrucci, it'll be his birthday on Saturday (well, tomorrow for here). Same time when I celebrate my 18th birthday. :)

And that.
Of course.
Though Awake > I&W
Meh, both are excellent albums.

Nope, I mean Deliverance.
Oh, never heard of that album before. If the band are against this, then I'm assuming it's a similar problem with Judas Priest's first two albums.

Also I always thought sonata artica was progressive metal, since when were they power metal?
Since forever.
MTE.

Who died?
Gerard Way, motherfucker.
Didn't believe it one bit. As soon as you said Gerard Way, it was obviously too good to be true.

I think, rather than telling people who fail the 10 bands rule to GTFO, we should give them recommendations for bands if they show promise (i.e. they like some metal but not 10)
Well, that's up to the horsemen, but if I were to be handling these people, I'd be more nice to them with recommendations that they should take a look at, just like what you've done here.

But seriously... we should probably let everyone in. There is a shortage of regulars here.
Even if they just say Slipknot, Korn and a few other nu-metal/metalcore bands? :P

A lot of us had poor tastes when we first joined. But the environment schools you in Metal.
I only had four bands when I signed up, Týr, Ensiferum, Wintersun and Nightwish.
Myself, these were the bands I mentioned when I signed up:
Blind Guardian
DragonForce
Dream Theater
Fear Factory
HammerFall
Helloween
Iced Earth
Iron Maiden
Megadeth
Metallica
Pantera
And I still listen to all those bands. OK, maybe some I don't listen to as often nowadays, but I still like them anyway. The only thing that's changed with me in metal is discovering many more artists.
