Either something is wrong or you've been had :).
Also I always thought sonata artica was progressive metal, since when were they power metal?
Since forever.

Sounds like an unnoficial compilation to me. Nothin wrong with that.

Hmm, its a bootleg. The band seem to dislike it from what I read on their forums.

......But I own it, its right in front of me!
I've already listened to it several times and there was nothing wrong about it or anything.

Mabye your information is wrong...?
Since forever.
Huh, i've always called them progressive metal.

I am technically right :P. It's not a part of Sonata's Discography.
ILLEGAL OMG!
But I don't care. I'm not much of a fan of them.
Huh, i've always called them progressive metal.
They're Power.

They could've just not updated it?
ILLEGAL OMG!
I bought it in a store, how can it be illegal. Lol
They're Power.

When have you ever heard of a band not tell their audience about a new album before it comes out?
Never. Thats moronic marketing.
I bought it in a store, how can it be illegal. Lol
Because someone is making a profit of an artists work without consent of the label.
Don't believe me, read this from Sonata Arctica themselves:

And I'm mad because I'm trying to download your stuff, Ponos and it keeps failing :(.
Hm, my sensors indicate that the singer of a shitty emo band just died.

That isn't helpful!

No, but it's hilarious.

No, not really.

Thats why I almost never post here anymore.

Who died?
When you don't give a name its the most pointless thing in the world. You may as well have just said 'Someone died today.'
Ponos. I agree with whats already been said.
Nice guitar riffs and I really like the clean bit at the end of Winter Spirit.
The product is bad.
And what the hell is the percussion? It makes me think of a few people dancing in the middle of a circle of other people enthusiastically clapping.
Now I'm not sure which song you improved as I downloaded both. So I'm just gonna say I like Wolfheart (the song).
If I had an LP of music like that I'd listen to it a lot. Its quite relaxing in a way :).
At 7/10/08 02:57 PM, Nev wrote: Who died?
Gerard Way, motherfucker.
And it's awesome because if someone says, (in a mournful voice) "It can't be...Gerard Way?" Then I can say "Yes way."
Although, there seems to be some scepticism surrounding his death. So I don't know if it's for real. But with several radio stations and several websites reporting such, I think it's quite likely.

It seems to be just a rumour.
Not suprising really, he's an unpopular guy amoung some people (dicks). And these rumours seem to crop up quite a lot about him.

Curses.
MCR has some decent songs, but overall they are really overrated.
I can't see their music getting any better in the future, they have no more potiential.

I think, rather than telling people who fail the 10 bands rule to GTFO, we should give them recommendations for bands if they show promise (i.e. they like some metal but not 10)
Observe:

Between the Buried and Me
Protest the hero
Coheed And Cambria

pink floyd

None of those bands are metal. Most are -core, and Vaughan and Floyd are both classic rock. However, Protest the Hero have the distinction of being one of the only metalcore bands I can withstand listening to, and Killswitch are somewhat borderline.
Judas Priest
Opeth
Dethklok(lol)
Iron Maiden
metallica
Savatage
These bands are metal, but you need ten metal bands to enter the Hell. To meet this requirement I think you should listen to;
3 Inches of Blood
Kalmah
Norther
Angra
Dragonland
Týr
Moonsorrow
Wintersun
tell us which ones you liked after listening, and we can give you more recommendations from there.
also gerard way isn't dead.

Isn't that a little bit too left wing for this place :P.
But seriously... we should probably let everyone in. There is a shortage of regulars here.

Good idea.
You do that. XD

Well thats good I suppose.

Correction: There is a shortage of GOOD regulars here.
Also most of the time if a user doesn't know what hes talking about with his/her(?) band listings then most of the time I doubt they would make more than a couple posts in the future and thats it.
Its even more unlikely they'll become regs.
And even if they did its not good to have regs who don't know what their talking about.

A lot of us had poor tastes when we first joined. But the environment schools you in Metal.

I only had four bands when I signed up, Týr, Ensiferum, Wintersun and Nightwish. I guess the only reason i was let in was because we all worship the shit of the first three. But it's true, we really help your metal tastes develop.

I had pretty good taste when I joinned.
Also what happened to this place? Four months ago this thread made 7 pages a day, now its no different from most of the threads on the first page of C&C.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. Seven pages a day means 210 posts a day, and that is just hell of crazy. We're still doing pretty well, with like 4 pages a week. But it's true, we've been a less active. Regulars haven't been showing up, mostly due to IRL stuff.
At 7/10/08 07:01 PM, D3NTATUS wrote: What'd you join with?
I'm PRETTY sure these were the bands;
Armored Saint
Avantasia
Avenged Sevenfold
Ayreon
Bad Religion
Blind Guardian
Bullet For My Valentine
Cannibal Corpse
Cradle of Flith
Dark Tranquility
Disturbed
Dragonforce
Dream Theater
Edguy
Gamma Ray
Hammerfall
Hatebreed
Helloween
In Flames
Iron Maiden
Kamelot
Mayhem
Megadeth
Metallica
NE Hositillity
Nightwish
Nile
Nocturnal Rites
Opeth
Pantera
Pro-Pain
Rise Against
Slayer
Sonata Aritica
Stratovarious
Symphony X
System of a Down
Testament
Therion
Venom
Wintersun
A few of those like SOAD and disturbed aren't metal but overall i'd say I had some pretty good taste then.

No, I don't think it was an exaggeration. there had to have been at least 40 regulars there. AT LEAST.
In fact, one of the reasons I never post here is because this thread moves so fast most of the time if I post a long and relevant post here the conversation has already moved past the topic and people ignore my post.

No, that's an exaggeration. Back in March (which was four months ago) we were at about a page a day. I don't think we've ever had 40 regulars.
