I have to recommend Control Denied's album The Fragile Art of Existence. It's a Power Metal side project of Chuck Schuldiner's and it's definitely for anyone who thinks that most Power Metal isn't ballsy enough. It basically sounds like one of Deaths progressive records with a Power Metal singer instead of the usual harsh vocals. Awesome shit, and you'll definitely enjoy it if you're a fan of Death.

Is it riffy, or is it chuggy? If it's riff oriented, then it's usually metal. If it's mainly palm muted "chugg chugg chugg" rhythms, it's nu-metal.

Release date is April 9th, but it leaked, so you can find it if you look around. I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet, but I heard it's better than Are You Dead Yet and worse than their previous albums.

My latest acquirement is The Black Mages' new album (they sound metal to me, but aren't listed on Metal-Archives :S), which I find very good. Unfortunately, due to the ridiculous price of the album, I resorted to downloading it, which isn't something I like to do very often.

Well, I haven't left you guys hungry for fun, I did it because I am fucking sick again. My overall condition is worse than I thought and I'm sure the doctors will love to see me again and again. I was told that it might be something of a more serious nature, but I can just hope for the best. Anyway, I don't have much energy now so I'll keep this short.

Sense-Offender and X-Imperium-X

It took me a while to make my final decision, but this is definitely it. I had another favourite candidate, but didn't consider him due to the lack of other votes. I don't know why almost none of you chose Bahamut, since he's actually one of the least-spamming, contributing members around here.

I listened to a little bit of Mirrorthrone and Varathon today. I like. Also, I kinda sorta like Ram Zet. It'll probably grow on me as I listen more.

Also, Proscriptor from Absu does some good darkwave stuff, although his cover of "I Ran" was pretty lame. I checked out his solo darkwave stuff and Equimanthorn. Both are good. I plan on checking out Equitant's darkwave stuff later. I'm busy with Varathon right now.
