There has been a lot of metal topics recently.
Is it just me, or has metal gotten more popular since Dimebag died?

It must be you the older stuff is more heavy and louder. The newer stuff is alot softer.

Nah, I wouldn't call it softer, the vocals have just become more whiny, and the riffs are less complicated. I think that their sound even has a little industrial touch now.
hey guys just thought i would "check" in i have several new CDs to add to my collection they are, In Flames - Clayman, Metallica - Kill 'em all, Black album, load, lacuna coil - comalies, and Blind Guardian - All of them (thats right every single one of them :D).
well thats the newest stuff to my collection i also have Sonata Artica Rekoning Night on its way too me :D

Anthems of Rebellion is a good one but if i was to quote the founder to get Burning Bridges. or atleast i think thats right :S

Hehe, Anthems of Rebellion would be a good choice, but if you are more interested in their earlier singer Johan then get Burning Bridges. It has the best riffs and song structures that Arch Enemy have ever done.
hi guys just wondering what CDs you guys would recommend me to purchase next im in the mood for something in the heavy/power genre
I'm in, my favorite metal bands are:
SOAD
My chemical romance(if they count.....)
Caliban
Slipknot
Chimaira
Just bought:
Rhapsody - Symphony Of Enchanted Lands II
and
Dream Theater - Images and Words

not my style of bands, but you are in anyway, and I see Lemmy from Motörhead in your sig, that's nice :)
Rage could you get some grave digger stuff for your site as they are another band i would like to check out and they don't have a site with free samples, just so you know what they are like they are a (apparently) good German Power Metal Band. if you can't or dont want to get the tracks don't worry i shall just have to attack my friend and steal his mp3 player.

I haven't fully listened to it yet but it's pretty good so far. At this stage I still like Power of the Dragonflame more.
Hmm, you all seem to talk either about new CDs you got or bands I don't like. That explains why I don't post much.
Anyway, the local metal scene has become rather crappy lately. There are barely any worthwhile shows. That and the fact that I'm broke and can get drunk properly because of the cops (who became really nazi lately) dipresses me like hell (no pun intended). I think I'll go listen to some Finntroll to cheer up.

If you like Wages of Sin, you might want to check out Anthems of Rebellion

I prefer to call them Speed/Classic Metal, I reccomend their Rheingold album.

My chemical romance(if they count.....)Not really metal, but they do ok.
Not exactly metal
Caliban-Hell yeah, Caliban.
Slipknot-Early stuff.
(Nu-Metal is... Not Metal) but they are one of the bands that got me into metal
Chimaira-Good stuff.

Our local scene isn't that bad, but not very good either, the best band that's around here is still Belphegor but I haven't had the chance to see them, yet.
BTW, what's your favourite Finntroll album?

Drowning-Pool.
