1.Pantera
2.Metallica
3.Black Sabbath
4.Iron Maiden
5.Van Halen
6.Slayer
7.KISS
8.Motorhead
9.Rage Against the Machines
10.Soundgarden

I've listened to Evile, and they're decent. Lately I have been getting somewhat bored of thrash.
Also, I'm in pain right now. I just had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted a very short time ago, and now my local anesthetic is 99% worn off. I just regained my ability to talk again less than a half hour ago, and my desk is full of napkins containing bloody saliva. So far, I took two painkillers, and they haven't kicked in yet.

I dont care if its not metal, but no one here has the stance to say it is improper or wrong to dislike a certain type of music because it doesn't fit your standards.
OH NO, THE POSERS SAID IT WAS METAL. Im..MEEELLTTIIING...the world has halted from existing. WHA--I CANT BREATHE!!!
But it IS metal. It fucking is, it has elements of metal and everything. I'm so sick of you fucking losers telling people it's not metal. I'm sure that if it wasn't considered metal it wouldn't be called metalcore.
Also, for fucking retards hardcore and metalcore are two different fucking genres.
You people really piss me off, you think you know you music as a whole, but you listen to ungodly metal alone, fuck off and learn a genre or three. That goes for every single person in the Hell, I'm angry that you can't even tell the difference between music.
Also, it's not about text or what you see on thefucking computer, it's about what you hear inside the music.
Try out some fucking Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn for Christs sake.

I hope you realise that everyone here except maybe Penisclown, does have a long list of other genres they listen to.
I think Idio being the most.
But we've gone through the list of other music genres we listen to a bajillion times.
It's not our fault you aren't here enough to know that, and that you read the one thing that pisses you off.
And mixing two genres to make a new genre, doesnt make it alone a metal or core genre.
It becomes it's own with shared elements.
It isn't that we don't understand that, it's just that metal hell deals with metal, and the metalcore thread deals with metalcore.
K?
Thx.

Is pop punk considered punk by real punks? Just like how Industrial rock isn't considered bona-fide industrial and indie pop isn't considered true pop, metalcore is not metal. Metalcore has elements of metal, this is true, but because of name alone, it is not truly metal. If there is more metal than core, then fuck yeah it's metal. If it's more core than metal, it's not metal.
Also, for fucking retards hardcore and metalcore are two different fucking genres.
No shit?

I'll give you a list of music i listen to, and have an album or more of said genre (excluding metal):
Industrial
Industrial rock
Ska
Ska-punk
Skacore
Reggae
Noise
Noise rock
Experimental (goes for metal, rock, and just plain experimental music)
Industrial punk
Punk
Hardcore
Post-hardcore
Alternative
Indie rock
Indie pop
Progressive rock
Post-rock
Folk
Folk-punk
Classic rock
electronic music
hiphop+funk metal (Rage Against the Machine)
Classical music
Jazz
Hip-hop and rap
Also, it's not about text or what you see on thefucking computer, it's about what you hear inside the music.
And that's exactly what I do. Metalcore doesn't sound like metal, the same way nu-metal doesn't sound like metal. it takes an experienced metalhead to pick out the differences, but they are there.
Try out some fucking Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn for Christs sake.
I did. They're metal, as they are more metal than core. But bands like Avenged Sevenfold and As I lay Dying, they are the metalcore bands that are not metal.

Well what's a band that's metalcore but has a more metal than hardcore sound? I'm still a deaf man when it comes to metal.

It's still metalcore, really, eitherway. It just that the band might lean more on which element it plays.
Metalcore with more metal isn't just "fuck yeah it's metal" but can just appeal more to metalheads than possible hardcore kids.
Y'know?

Drum n' Bass
Glitch
Hip-Hop (Lupe Fiasco ftw!)
Post-Rock
Post-Metal

Finntroll is basically what viking metal is made of if you're going by sound and not lyrical.
Most viking metal is based off black metal and folk metal fusing, and with some exceptions of death metal and folk metal fusing.
Finntroll goes under what people normally want to put as troll metal, which is the same concept, so it isn't abnormal to put it under black metal, but it is far from solely being just black metal.
