Wow. It figures it'd be you to agree with me on that. Seriously. I've heard Altars many a time, and there is a ton of death metal I prefer to it. I guess its for posterity's sake, or nostalgia, or cultural context, not for musicianship (IMO). Right now I would take Cannibal Corpse or Behemoth over them any day.

Cryptopsy, Entombed, Gorguts, Possessed, Demilich, Deicide, Death, Morbid Angel (again), and Suffocation round out the top ten.

I can't really make up my mind, but death's leprosy is pretty good. I also like necrophagist's onset of putrefaction.

There is way toooo many for me to name to pick a favorite. I do enjoy onset of putrefication though. Annhilation of the wicked is pretty sweet. I also like bonemill's shit :)
