I didn't like the Dethklok cd. Get over it. It was generic in most parts, and touched on many genres without being good at any. Great metal for a 13 year old with no opinion that needs an intro to the world of teh metul, but crappy for me, as I already know what I like, what I think is good, and what I wanted to be opinionated about.

Too much power metal. Musically, I can appreciate it, but I (usually) can't take it for too long. How do y'all listen to a guy singing like he got kicked in the balls for 45 straight minutes?

I'm going to go ahead and say this too: I think Dragonforce sucks. They are way over-rated, for any metal band, especially power. Even I know Iced Earth is way better than they are. Too bad...

Well, their last good material was released about 10 years ago, so it's no big loss and the stench of a split was lying in the air for a while now (the tension between Infernus and King).

Blargh, that really sucks. And I thought they had just returned to the studio to work on a new album, too.

Anyway, I saw Overkill yesterday. Awesome show. There was a solid setlist which included all of the classics like Elimination, Rotten To The Core, Thanks For Nothin', etc, and of course the closer, Fuck You. The only new song they played was Skull and Bones. Unfortunately they didn't play Shred or I Hate, but I didn't think they would considering that they haven't performed those songs in years (Shred was last played in '02 I believe). Since I was one of the first to show up, I spent more than five hours waiting in line. The band's bus arrived about 10-20 minutes after me, but no other fans were around, so I confronted Bobby, talked for a little bit, and asked if he was willing to get his pic taken with me, which he was.

Now for After Forever, they put on a good show as well, although I was only familiar with Prison of Desire before walking in. I was only planning on taking a few pics of them, but I ended up taking more because I couldn't get over how hot Floor Jansen was...

I took 29 pics, but I'm not going to show all of them for now. So far, I've only uploaded what I think are the best ones.

...? Talent in what? I've heard what and how they play. They don't impress me in any aspect of it. They play fast, like a million other bands do, blah blah blah, there really isn't anything that elevates them for me. I don't really care what they are like outside of music. I just think too many wankers think they're the best thing that's happened to metal, and don't realize they really just don't play guitar that well. At least Iced Earth has had some good guitarists in the past, and they sing about cool shit (IMO Civil War > Medieval Times frolicking)

I would recommend everything from Psalm 69 and newer, coming from a metalhead perspective. From and industrial fan's perspective, everything before Psalm 69 inclusive. That was, as best as I can pinpoint, when they turned from industrial to metal. Scarecrow is tits.

I got Yngwie Malmsteen's Marching Out yesterday. Pretty solid speed metal album, with some nice guitar solos and wonderful songs (albiet really cheesy.)
