I don't think famine and pestilence are the same horseman. I'm famine, and Idio's pestilence. I dunno bout the other two, though I think Bill should be death.

Happy birthday. :) Octavarium isn't DT's best album, but it has some kickass songs, most especially the title track. :D And ELP, not got the essential, but I did get Brain Salad Surgery today. I decided to get it today since it was only £5 in HMV. :O

its like3 or 4 am there, IF I HAD TO GANDER>

and Octavarium was a pretty heavy album for DT imo. I like it, for that, but I dont, for DT standards.

I actually wasn't too impressed with it, aside from the titular song, and the fact that it's placed between their two darkest and heaviest albums (Train of Thought and Systematic Chaos) really amplifies the whole U2 vibe to it.

Actually it's more a meld of U2, Muse and DT for abotu half the album. Some very nice bits, but something makes me not too intent on listening through it as much as their others.

No, it looks like pestilence and famine are one in the same. Here:

I looked and there was a white horse, and its rider had a bow. He was given a crown, and he rode forth victorious to further his victories.

Another horse came out, a red one. Its rider was given power to take peace away from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. And he was given a huge sword.

I looked, and there was a black horse, its rider held a scale in his hand. I heard what seemed to be a voice in the midst of the four living creatures It said, "A ratoin of wheat costs a day's pay, and three rations of barley cost a day's pay. But do not damage the olive oil or the wine."

I looked, and there was a pale green horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades accompanied him. They were given authority over a quarter of the earth, to kill with sword, famine, and plague, and by means of the beasts of the earth.

I think War is either the first or second. Don't quote me on that though. Revelations is a bitch to understand. In fact, War might not even be one. But yeah, I'm placing my bets on #1. Also, did you get a look at my post on the previous page? Your song isn't a ripoff, it just has a similar sound.

Shit. I think I was totally wrong. You might be right here. Reading deeper, I found this.

White horse... bow: this may perhaps allude specifically to the Parthians on the eastern border of the Roman empire. Expert in the use of the bow, they constantly harassed the Romans and won a major victory in A.D. 62.

Huge sword: this is a symbol of war and violence.

Black horse: This is the symbol of famine, the usual accompaniment of war in antiquity. The scale is a symbol of shortage of food with a corresponding rise in price.

A day's pay: literally, "a denarius," a Roman silver coin that constitutes a day's wage. Because of the famine, food was rationed and sold at an exorbitant price. A liter of flower was considered a day's ration in the Greek historians Herodotus and Diogenes Laertius. Barley: food of the poor. It was also used to feed animals. Do no damage: the olive and the vine are to be used more sparingly in time of famine.

Pale green: symbol of death and decay.
