I can confirm that the medals do not work on IE, Chrome, and Firefox.

Okay, I've played this game 3 times already and for some reason medals simply don't unlock for me. My first thought was that it could be due to the https problem, but I see that two users have unlocked at least the level 7 medal since August 2017, so that's not the problem. I've tried in Chrome and Firefox with the same result.

Maybe the medals are just trolling me, who knows.

I tried running it on Edge and didn't get any medals. I'll try it later on Chrome and Firefox. @Neonspider you have unlocks for those medals from back in 2016. Can you see if they will still unlock for you?

Not gonna delete my medals and try that game again as I remember the game to be a bit difficult. It's better to have someone who hasn't yet earned it try for it.

Some things you can try (and I always try) applicable to all medals games

-- Once you have met requirements for a medal, wait around about 5 or 10 minutes and do not close the game during this time.
-- Once you have met requirements for a medal, and after waiting and no medal, play through again on the same play (so without closing the game out). Sometimes this works.
-- If the game has a save feature and you've met requirements and no medal, reload the game and see if this awards the medal. Or try clicking on any in-game medal(s) if applicable.
-- If a game takes a long time to complete and has a save feature, intentionally get close to, but do not meet requirements for any given medal, save game, reload game, now meet/pass requirements and much more likely for medal get rather than medals connection timeout.

And then sometimes a medal won't award on some play(s) but randomly awards one of the times.

And yes sometimes it's browser-dependent and discriminating based on browser. I'm pretty sure on that game I got the medals using Firefox so try that. If not Firefox then Chrome. 100% I've done everything using those two browsers, but mostly Firefox. Only time I tend to need Chrome is in cases where the medal discriminates Firefox users and doesn't work there, but does work in Chrome, but there's medals that discriminate Chrome users and only work in Firefox too.

And yeah if it needs HTTP instead of HTTPS then that's always a possible culprit these days.

Or could even have used some older medals API that doesn't work anymore for some reason. It seems like it should be a pretty simple thing but I'm not sure why there are so many newgrounds medals APIs, some of which stop working. I mean you would think you just need to a) get a connection to the server and then b) give it your key and then c) tell it what medal(s) to unlock in your game and for which user, while d) using some kind of medals connection keep-alive in your code. And for a well-developed game to have a medals resubmit functionality. Seems pretty simple so I'm not sure why there's not just one way that everyone uses. It really shouldn't be this difficult to get right and yet here we are.

It's medals that you have definitely earned but have not been awarded, whether or not the medals are permanently broken or not. And yes I have removed lots of medals from there too, if I am eventually awarded the medal. Lots of other games I had in that list and which have finnicky medals but which finally did award at some point.

Plenty of games with finnicky medals on newgrounds.

And that's not even counting stuff that is impossible due to broken/bugged games, etc, but just medals actually earned but not rewarded. I guess what I'm saying is you could do something like that as a sort of supplement to the official broken medals thread. In any case helps you keep track of stuff.

Also yes it's annoying you'll have to essentially type it up in a text editor and copy/paste to your news post, since the inbuilt editor on newgrounds stupidly puts an extra newline each time you press enter/return. And lots of times you don't want two returns, but just the one.

Also it's not perfect and I'm sure I'm missing games medals that I just don't think to include on there at the time, or I forget to update, but it's pretty close.

Hmm that can be pretty useful. Either way I already have many docs in my desktop with links to NG games and stuff, so no need to make posts on my profile (in my case).

Btw I just played through the game again and got to the 15th level, but again not a single medal was awarded. As it happened the same to @RightTime I can see that it's not only me, so maybe you could put the game in non-https mode? @Exedor We're not sure if it's the https problem, so if it works this way we'll know for sure. If they still don't work, they should be removed or something.

Nope, medals aren't awarded either. My last theory is that you have to beat the whole game to get the 3 medals at once, but since there are 882 users with the first medal, 545 with the second one and 250 with the last one, this theory is clearly wrong. So they're officially broken.

Another game that seems to be having the same problem with the same symptoms and for the same reason is Build a Snowman by @Raiper34.

I can confirm that the medals are not working for both of these games. I tried different browsers, but still had issues.

The medals in this game are not submitting for me. They were last earned on February 2, which is the only unlock since September 2017. There is also a game-breaking bug (making it impossible to complete if you die on particular levels) that was apparently introduced in 2016 - according to the comments - and the author is aware of it but hasn't fixed it.

This game consistently freezes for me when shooting certain shapes (for example, the last green block in the second wave of the first level). I'm using Firefox. Is anyone able to complete levels without a problem?

It freezes exactly in the moment when you should earn a medal. It can be a https problem. As for the 2nd game - there already were some problems with it in the past. @Exedor - maybe try both on http?

Another one that hasn't been earned in half a year. I got a sponsored animation and the first medal didn't register.

Based on the time that medals stopped unlocking on the game it looks like it could be an https problem.

That should fix the problem, so the medals do not have to be removed.

CjElliott has several medal games with problems. The following games may need to be switched to http.
Idle Programmer - I earned these medals before https, but none have been earned since 9/25/17.
CAZE - medals are not working for me, none earned since 9/17/17.
Happy Jump - "Dress to Impress" works, but the score-based medals do not; unearned since 9/16/17. (After I managed to get over 100 >_>)
His more recent games seem to be working, though Midnight crashed Google Chrome and I can't try Firefox (my usual browser) right now.
