if you had it your way, snype, there would never be any new members because you're so hard up about not allowing new members in. in case you haven't noticed, our activity has been suffering BECAUSE we're not letting in enough new members.

if you'd take a look at the situation and actually use common sense, you'll see that the club is not intelligent not because of new members, but because of lack of activity from the old ones. every club has their ups and downs.

if you actually had a good idea about how to get this club intelligent again, you would have said it. but the only thing you seem to ever suggest is to not allow people in the club who are not up to your standards. but that's not the way it works. to have a club, we need members. to have members, we need to let people in. if we don't have anyone applying that has the calibur we used to have, we have to take what comes in.

you live in the same dream world that so many other people i've seen that run clubs; that everything will remain as good as it was forever. i had a great dream; that everyone we had back in 2003-2004 were still around and this club was full of a tight-knit group of people, and just as full of immaturity as ever. but guess what? those times are gone and will never come back. if you don't want to be a trooper and learn to get along with new people and give them TIME to get to be an intelligent poster, then that's on you.

out of decency, i'm obliged to say good luck to you in all your future endeavors, and i'm sure you will be missed. but you have been threatening to quit for 6 or 7 months, so i was prepared for it. but, you will never find what you're searching for. if you want a club full of intelligent posters to just hang around in, look in other clubs and see if you can find it. or better yet, start your own thread called 'the intelligent poster's crew' and see if you can get that off the ground. it's obvious what you're looking for is no longer here, and i think it would be better if you just left rather than bitching and whining at every turn of the way when something happens that you don't like.

While I do not agree or disagree with Snype's decision, I will only say that Strauss has a point. Ive seen this place in a much lower condition than its in right now. Strauss just said the truth, we need new members. Yes, we have had BlindTigers and other really shitty members in the past, but they livened up this place. And I know what our older members do. They come in here and see if anyone has posted. Since nobody has, they dont post themselves. So I say this, to all of you lurkers, if you arent going to post, try and recruit someone that will. These potential members arent applying not because they dont want to, they arent applying because they dont know about this place. Recruit some new members, no matter how shitty.

Snype, c'mon man, we have a system here to ensure that we will get only good posters and even if they don't end up being someone good then we can boot them out and contact a mod to ensure they won't be back. We need more members to keep this place going and without those members, we're going downhill and the Mafia may never be the same as it was before.

it's all relative. when you're new, you see any post as intelligent, and people adding to the conversation. when you become seasoned and get to know the site and develop your skills and get older, all of a sudden, the same stuff doesn't seem so smart. it looks stupid.

that's what happened to snype. he grew a lot since he first came in, and then all of a sudden, the regular, everyday conversation didn't seem so intelligent.

but, what can you do? snype has been bitching for over a year now about how unintelligent this place has become. but people move on, people grow up, and yes, people DO leave newgrounds. hell, i'm not 1/4 as active as i was back in 2003, and neither is ghost. but when we started and it was a new club, you will see just how stupid our posts were.

Holy shit... that's exactly right. Wow, that was right on the money. I remember starting in 2005, trying to be an "internet tough guy" and somebody I wasn't. Now, looking back, I feel quite stupid for that all that. That, and my posting quality = shit. I rarely post anymore unless I have something to say.

As for leaving Newgrounds...I've thought about it a few times. I haven't, but the thought does linger in my head from time to time.

PS: I'm still here, alive and sort of well. I'm not going to be too active, but I'll check in every now and then.

I agree, when I join I was spelling you as u and other gay spellings, then when I was suppose to improve I fixed it and start posting better. Soon got more intelligent, I even start reading more posts in a thread before I post to see what has been said and what the thread is turning into and to see if the thread has changed topic. Now most threads I read every post in it now, unless its like 7 pages, which then I'll just shag it.

Then the story writing got my imagination back on track and help gave me better visuals in my mind and now I don't doodle in class now, I make really good looking drawings now. It actually helped a lot of things in my life, I started to write (slightly) better then I did before. Which helped my English mark too, and just by joining this one club on a site has actually improved a lot of things.

I am even starting to believe this place is getting less intelligent as I get older and learn more things in my life.

So what I'm saying is, I guess I have always been lurking, even thou I am a member here, I'm still here even thou sometime I can't or don't always want to get in on the conversation if it happens, as I may be one of the reasons why this club, is kinda going down.

goddamn, that sucks, man. by the way, how did all the archived stories get deleted anyway? if need be, i have a server that can store all the archives of the stories so that they don't get lost.

Honestly I have no fucking clue. The link just stopped working. Every story that l went back and copied is gone. Maybe when l have the patience l'll collect them again and your server would help a shit load.

don't worry about archiving the stories. i'm taking care of them........page by page. and yes, it is going to take a long time, but i'd like to have a 100% complete archive with 100% of the mafia stories in them.

I am actually writing a sort of biblical parody. I think that it might be a little out there, though. It has a lot of sexual/sophomoric humor. I might try my hand at mystery writing though.
