So here's the evolution of my mascot Gerald: The Wastelander. I Just decided to do a sketch of his forms, and maybe if I ever learn to animate make a flash about it but for now here are the five forms of Gerald Prior to the final one that is directly above the one above this post.

Great concepts you have there (regardless how bad the anatomy is atm). But you can improve on that with time and practice.

Don't forget to check my latest art submissions !

That's the joy of doing cartooney drawings the anatomy is how you want it to be, though yes those sketches are very rough all together took about 30 minutes and their anatomy will change slightly after some clean up.

With the fully developed Gerald of Wastelanders: Bubs N' Gerald finished I've moved on to Bubs, he's the more assertive of the two, here's the WIP of him done very lightly in pencil, (I made the lines Darker just for you guys).

Liking it!

Can tell you're improving nicely. That's the key really, to just keep drawing.

Thanks Joe, good to know that someone who didn't care for my earlier work is likin' it now, here's the partially colored outline of Bubs.

Well here's the second full drawing of a suit that I've been trying to get right for some time now, but can not seem to get a satisfactory, i can already tell I'll need to do another, just because of the face and body length. But yeah this is the basic Idea of the Butcher suit, A suit that the BlackStar Butchers wore to protect themselves from the most horrendous beasts the universe had to offer, but now after Earth's fall into a Wasteland Butcher Suits are very valuable and anyone who holds one is considered worthy of followers. The butchers generally only use knives but sometimes use blunt trauma weapons and rarely will use a firearm.
This is unfinished incase you couldn't tell

imo those robots are ten times better than the "human" figures you draw...

Yeah I'm aware that my humanish characters aren't exactly great, I am not very good at people, or organic things.

Well Kinda, some are but some are just drawings. I'd like to make them into comics but I don't have the time or the skill so right now their just drawings of characters with backstory.

#3 is one of the few Meat-Heads within the first 30 or so to not be redone from the original.

this could very well be the lost member of the village people

Sure... Thats an old one.

Well Here's an old drawing of one of the toughest enemies Meat-Head #1 faces in the Nazi Doom Tower.
The Nazi Roboboss, very sketchy yes I know its old and done with a cheap papermate pen.

After looking it I came to the conclusion it was too vibrant and looked like puke so I changed up some saturation and exposure and colored his pants blue this is the real final.

Yeah, this looks much better. The brighter colours didn't suit the character.

Response to The Meat-heads By Jack 2010-01-15 00:32:03

I know man, They just looked too much like shit, like literal shit and There wasnt much variety so I had to change the pants to balance out the palate

Here's the pencil Drawing of The Wastelander found in One of my previous posts, though I put more time and detail into this one, now I need to outline and color.

I think you should go easy on the folds and all. if you are going to add folds to clothing, add them with shading, not with lineart (or only very minimal).
the way youre adding them now just makes it look messy

Yes While I've definitely been experimenting with making my folds look better I asked my sister to help me with that (and Feet) I'd like to take the "its my style" route, but I do agree that folds and shading are definitely something I need to work on, and feet. Its also hard to do with limited resources.

having a style and all is all very well, but what it comes down to for me is whether it looks good... and in your case it doesnt.

I appreciate your blunt honesty, and will restate that i am trying to learn new shading techniques but I do have limited resources and a basic (at best) understanding of how colors mix. and in all honesty I like my style, still working on feet though
