Pretty much. The only real reason why anyone would want to watch this game is to see the Chargers crash and burn like the Hindenburg, and to see how many turnovers Phillip Rivers can make.

With the way things are going, at least the Giants aren't doing as badly as the Chargers. Still what happened last night sucked regardless of whom they were facing, I mean I know it's the Packers but still, I bet even I could run right through the defense for 5 yards (before getting killed by an impact of the hit).

Anyway, do you think AJ Smith's mouth is a jinx for the Chargers? Especially after what he said last summer.

Well, the Cowboys lost, so the Giants are still in the mix to win the division. Also, this is about the time where the Cryboys usually start their slide downhill, although if the Giants play defense like they did with the Saints last week and the Packers yesterday, then Dallas might just back themselves into the division, unfortunately.

I lol'd at Garrett's lack of time management and icing his own kicker, the very same guy who was supposed to be Wade Phillip's replacement a couple of years ago. I guess Jerry never really thought that through too much.

Anyway, do you think AJ Smith's mouth is a jinx for the Chargers? Especially after what he said last summer.

Yep. Not only that, but I think AJ Smith is a jinx for the Chargers, period. Especially when he got rid of Drew Brees and Darren Sproles, oddly enough ending up in New Orleans, where Brees won a Super Bowl 2 years ago, and are in contention for another one, lol.

If I were the Chargers owner, first I would begin to clean house and get rid of AJ Smith, and then seriously consider moving the team to Los Angeles. Chances are, they do neither of these things, and become a .500 team dealing away Rivers, and he ends up getting a ring somewhere else.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Yeah, seriously it'll do Rivers good if he goes to another team since Chargers aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I'd be surprised if they even managed to reach the Super Bowl with the way Smith have been running things.

Knowing the Chargers are failing brings a smile to my face, especially being that their kicker is a choker, former defensive player was a juicer, and their QB as of now is becoming the next Dan Marino and you know it's not good.

Speaking of stats, I did found the irony of Eli getting his best statistical season and sadly right now it's practically the same way Rivers got one of his first in 2008...

I think that LSU has a pretty damn good chance of beating the 12-0 (oh wait, was that 0-12?) Colts.

I've always wondered if the worst NFL team playing the best college team would be a good game. I've also wondered if the worst college team playing the best high school team would be a good game as well. Then I realized that they probably wouldn't and the NFL team would almost always beat the college team since if you're in the NFL you're there for a reason.

Kansas City at New York Jets: New York Jets

MONTE!!!

I think Richardson will probably get it simply for the fact that his team is in the Championship and Mathieau had the suspension.

Which is retarded because he's just a part of a good offense whereas Monte Ball is setting records with his play but whatever whoever said it would be fair?

At 12/6/11 08:36 PM, reverend wrote: BTW, who is your pick for the Heisman?

My vote would go to Trent Richardson, he dominated against a defense heavy conference in the SEC and had more rushing TDs than Mark Ingram, who won the award 2 years ago.

You could easily make an argument for anyone, but RG III and Montee Ball put up huge stats against bad defenses, and were largely 1 season wonders, {Yes, I know that the Heisman award is a seasonal award, but they don't tend to give it to 1 year wonders.} and Andrew Luck had only TEs to throw to and had a running game that did much of the work.

Mathieu would be a good choice, but I don't think that he would get too many 1st place votes from the voters who generally vote for a QB or RB. It would be interesting if he won the award, becoming the 2nd defensive player to win the award after Charles Woodson, who was the best cornerback and kick returner in the Big Ten far and away.

It's nice to see so many people saying that Cincinnati will win this game, but I'm still uneasy about it. I know that Houston is using a third string QB, but they still have one of the most impressive offensive lines in the NFL. I'm just wondering if the young Bengals team can overcome that for what will be a vital win in the grand scheme of things (I'm figuring that if we don't win AT LEAST three of our next four games, we're fucked in the sense of playoff hopes.)

I feel the game against the Falcons proved the most important thing for the Texans. They have an all but omnipresent rush game. Texans running is like Packers passing, they don't have 'off' days and they can dominate any team in the league. I'd say this success is more variable than it is for the Pack but nonetheless it is certainly reassuring to their hopes of succeeding in the playoffs.

That defense isn't half bad either.

If Andre Johnson was 100% by this Sunday, then things can get really hairy for the Bengals, but luckily, this isn't the case. Even with a banged up secondary that we have, I don't really expect T.J. Yates to have huge passing yards, instead rely on Foster to carry the load, which plays into our strength, the run defense. You can't really stop the rushing offense of the Texans, but it's possible to curtail it enough to make it a non-factor in the game.

I don't really expect this game to be a high-scoring game at all, so the QB play is going to be paramount, and who would you rather trust in this game to make the big throw, Dalton {who has done it before.} or Yates? I thought so.

I'm just wondering if the young Bengals team can overcome that for what will be a vital win in the grand scheme of things (I'm figuring that if we don't win AT LEAST three of our next four games, we're fucked in the sense of playoff hopes.)

3 out of the last 4 games are going to be at home, and the other game is against the Rams, who are pretty woeful, except when the Saints went in and they beat them. {which was a fluke, really.} The Cardinals and Rams are pretty woeful teams that we should beat handily, and the Ravens will have to play in Cincinnati in week 17, most likely going to rest their starters for the playoffs.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Sadly, Andrew will win it. Why? The the voters probably cummed for him already as soon as it was announced that he would be a candidate of the Heisman.
When you are a good looking Stanford QB, all you need to do to win the Heisman is having an above average season.

Alright, Jonthomson, I only need the Falcons, Saints, and Giants to win and I'll take your spot as #1! IT'S ON!

Seriously, a quarterback from Baylor that has no tradition of winning, now gets the coveted Heisman award by posting monster stats against mostly bad defenses in the Big 12. Personally, it should've gone to Trent Richardson, who posted better stats than Mark Ingram who won the award 2 years ago, not to mention he was basically Alabama's entire offense, playing in the toughest conference no less.

I guess the Heisman is just a popularity contest, now more so than ever.
