A bit of both
I think this uptake all started when Reggie Bush was given the workload in the Giants game. He put up good numbers and Miami looked like a team motivated to be better than themselves. Since then Reggie has done a tremendous job of making the Dolphins a respectable offense but even more than that Matt Moore has begun to show glimpses of what we saw of him being taking over the Panthers when he went on a tear near the end of the season.
What happened today against Buffalo wasn't luck, it was a motivated team thrashing a team that has abruptly decided to either get comfortable or just plainly lost all of their tenacity.
Buffalo isn't even the same team they were at the beginning of the year. They've gone back to that some conservative, cookie cutter offense bullshit that made them lose 8 straight last year and the defense is playing like they forgot how to. I don't know who this team is but I want the Bills back. I know who the Bills can be, who they should be and it makes me sick to watch them shoot themselves in the foot week after week against teams ranging from decent to outright incompetent.
Buffalo has all but excluded itself from divisional discussion and the wild card is about to be lost entirely. I am not so much surprised as I am disappointed. My team used to play with a kind of fire, like a cornered fox trying desperately to make something, anything, go their way and I found that exciting. My team beat the Patriots and intercepted Tom Brady four times.
I don't know what the fuck is going on but it needs to shape up soon because I am pretty sick of it.
