I'm not going anywhere near the playoffs but I have predictions too
AFC EAST
Call me a homer or whatever but I think Buffalo gets a winning record and shows everyone how wrong they are about this team. Maybe they even beat New England for once...
Do I think they win the division? No, but do they do better than Miami? Yes, anyone can do better than Miami at this point though. I say the Pats take the division this year with the Jets stealing away another undeserved Wild Card spot because God hates me.
AFC WEST
I like the Chiefs. Oakland isn't going to repeat what they did last year in this division especially under new coaching. I still think Oakland does well but the Chiefs will almost certainly improve their passing and their run game will still overpower any defense they face. The Chargers aren't even in the discussion in my opinion, Rivers simply doesn't carry his team through the division anymore. The Broncos are The Broncos.
AFC NORTH
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the reign of Baltimore and Pittsburgh is coming to an end. Is this the year of the Browns? I think it just might be. They're fairly young and they have a lot of promise moving forward. Colt McCoy needs to have made marked improvement if they plan to win the division because Hillis can't win all 16 games alone. If they manage to get an upper mid tier passing game going then they could very well surpass Pitt and Baltimore, two teams who seem to have lost a lot of the punch they once packed. In all reality though Pitt will likely win the division again and lose early on in the playoffs. Cincy will want to forget about this season, or maybe they'll make a respectable showing moving forward (not likely though).
AFC SOUTH
Honestly I think the majority of the division is kind of a joke at this point. Indy has only declined and yet they still control this division with ease. That said I think the Jags make a run for the top but I would be surprised to see them hold a lead and make it to the playoffs. Maybe a wild card berth if they play the kind of football they should be playing with a team as well equipped with potential as them. Houston is another team that will more than likely fall short of the mark yet again and Tennessee should be focused more on winning a decent number of games rather than a division. Indy takes the division again, gets eliminated early in the playoffs. Jags and Houston could get Wild Card but I like the Jags better and think they, unlike Houston, might actually win in a playoff appearance.
NFC EAST
The Eagles are easily the favorites and for good reason. With New York generally MIA in the playoff discussion by the later weeks they'll be lucky if they maintain relevance by stomping on Washington and Dallas. Philly will eat this division alive and it'll be a fight for second, a fight between the Giants and two very average teams. I still think Washington surprises at times but not enough to warrant any serious discussion. The entire conference should be afraid of Philly and Vick, the rest of the division is nothing to get bothered about.
NFC WEST
This division is a real head scratcher for me. Honestly all of the teams in this division are average at best but if I had to pick I would say St Louis. St Louis has the best overall game and they don't usually get mauled by other teams. Any team in this division could take it though, mediocrity shines in the west. Not like it matters though, I seriously doubt any of these teams make a logically strong run in the playoffs.
NFC NORTH
GREEN BAY!!! Better luck next year everyone else in this division. On the real though, Lions and Bears are likely to make wild card berths I think they could plausibly take both of them but if I had to take one over the other I would take Chicago. The Vikings will slog through the year and hope things get better soon (but they won't).
NFC SOUTH
I like Tampa Bay. I think Atlanta and New Orleans just don't pack the punch to take it again. Something about them seems old and tired, like their window has closed. Tampa has so many strong young players and an ambitious quarterback who has already looked playoff ready. I think Tampa makes the playoffs this year, wild card or division leader. The Panthers might surprise people. They have a solid team that needs a quarterback and if that QB is Newton then they could go places, not this year though.
