Why keep it confined to threads when there can be a WHOLE ENTIRE FORUM??? Also Las Vegas can't have an NFL team for a few reasons like it makes a lot of money from betting on the NFL so a team there would force the NFL to prevent betting on the league. A L.A. team would only work if they have the best people, and the stadium was small enough to sell out.

Because it keeps each sport separated to cut down on distractions. If there was a sports forum you would have the same thing with official topics for each sport just like it is now. Not to mention, the NG staff probably have no plans on adding such a forum with the current setup even with a petition.

Right now the Jaguars, Vikings, and Bills are the short list of teams likely to make the move to LA if they can't afford to stay.

Of those I think either the Bills or Vikings are most likely. The Vikings need a new stadium and I think with a season as disastrous as this one has been their struggles to generate revenue will continue. As for the Bills, well, decades of fan dedication are slipping and they aren't selling all their seats anymore. I'd hate to see the Bills leave Buffalo, it just wouldn't be the same, this is also true of the Vikings, even though I hate the Vikes.

Why would there be official threads when there can be a thread about a tennis match, hypothetical boxing match, how the Packers got beat, how the Raiders can still probably make it, how Lebron sucks balls, how Manny Pacquiao is on steroids, etc. There could be so much discussion.

After 321 consecutive starts in a row {including playoffs}, Brett Farve sits out a game due to a shoulder injury in Detroit. Now say what you will about Brett Farve's antics about retirement and the his other merry little activities off the field, he played the toughest position in the roughest sport in the world, and with over 500 TDs and over 180 wins to his credit, Farve is one of the toughest and one of the best QBs to ever play in the NFL, and chances are, he's going to retire and mean it this time after the season.

The streak started in 1992, which back then gas was $1.20 a gallon, the Buffalo Bills were actually pretty good, and a show that changed the world was a mere 14 years away. Brett Favre, traded from the Atlanta Falcons, {the team that orginally drafted Farve} to the Packers, started his streak of 297 regular season starts, which includes 2 Super Bowl apperences, and 4 NFC championship apperences, {1 with the Vikings.} He certainly deserves a spot in Canton, and should be in the discussion for being the best QBs in NFL history IMO.

Favre...*sigh*. HE SAW THREE DIFFERENT PRESIDENTS, THREE WARS, 117 HEAD COACHES, 200+ QUARTERBACKS DURING THE STREAK...WHAT A HERO.

dude's definitely not gonna be having fun being unable to do anything with his body in 4-6 years. he sacrificed a lot of health to be able to get to 297.

I think if there's one team that may be able to hang with the Pats in the postseason, it's Baltimore when they're on their game...the issue is, how often are they on their A game for all four quarters? You saw the defense break down last night, only to come back and seal a victory with an OT INT. I think if the Saints get their running game back to where it used to be with Bush & Thomas at full strength and perhaps Chris Ivory at goal-line/3rd-down RB, they might be able to hang with New England, but I don't trust that defense too much this year.

Also, Matt Schaub threw 62 times? Sixty-two? Shit man...talk about a rough game. Go off for 340 yards on 62 attempts, lead your team back despite the continuous drops by WRs (Jacoby Jones what up), and STILL manage to lose the game in OT on a game-losing pick-six. Tough to be a Texans QB.

Jags over Raiders was a depressing game to watch from a defensive standpoint, but MAN, those RBs can move (Run-DMC, MJD/Pocket Hercules, & Rashad Jennings). Jason Campbell threw for 321 yards too, I mean, wtf?! That Kyle Boller sighting was cute though. Got a chance to show off his big arm and ability to ruin the remainder of any team's momentum...I just want to know why Hue Jackson called two passes on 3rd & short and 4th & short with Boller under center. That was just dumb playcalling from an otherwise great play-caller.

We really need better safeties and corners though. Michael Huff has been mediocre his whole career and it's simply time to cut bait after this year...same with Stanford Routt. Jeremy Ware is ehh.

Buffalo really cracked down on Peyton Hillis and proved stats don't always dictate the heart of a defense. Posluzny and Whitner have become real stalwarts on that defense and the rest of the defense is beginning to adapt also. After shutting down Hillis' scoring the only thing we had to do was stop Delhomme which is a task I think even Michigan's defense could handle at this point.

In other news I won my first ever Fantasy Football Playoff Game which was pretty cool. It's been a lot of fun doing this for the first time so to actually win is even better.

To him, I would imagine that it was all worth it to play QB as long as he did. Although, in all honesty, Farve should have stopped playing after last year, but then again, not going for 3 extra TDs for 500, and the 1,000 or so yards to get 70,000 yards passing would have him kicking himself for not putting anymore distance between him and Peyton Manning, recordwise.

I believe the only team in the AFC that can stop New England is Kansas City with a healthy Matt Cassel. A lot of coaches and some players were part of the New England dynasty, so I would think that they would have something up their sleeve if they were able to meet in the playoffs, but even then, they would have to play the perfect game if they want to win. Other teams like the Steelers can't keep up with them on offense, and Baltimore and Jacksonville can't play a consistent game for 60 minutes on either side of the ball to stand much of a chance.

On the NFC side, Atlanta, Philadelphia and the New York Giants may pose a problem for the Patriots, but especially the Giants and their pass rush, after all it worked for them in '07, and argubaly their D-line in 2010 may be even better than the one in 2007. Falcons and Eagles can keep up with them offensively, but their defense may let them down because they can't pressure Brady very much. The Saints also can keep up with the Pats on offense, but with a suspect D that got carved up by the Browns no less, the Patriots would dismember that D, given the chance.

The problem in Houston is simple, their defense is utter shit, and that's putting it nicely. Andre Johnson is one of the best WRs in the league right now, and Arian Foster is a rising star at RB, but if they don't do anything about that defense soon, then they will only be a .500 team, and Johnson would have the first ticket out of Houston, and probably to Dallas, Oakland or possibly Cincinnati, where the owners of those respective teams would love to get their hands on him.

It's not all of Houston's defense, as their LB corps is very strong and some of the D-line (such as Mario Williams) are fantastic. It's their pass coverage; outside of Dunta Robinson they have no quality CBs nor Safeties and that continually screws them over because it's so incredibly easy to exploit.

And I guess I can understand the idea of KC as a potential team to beat New England, but I still find it highly laughable, Cassel or no Cassel.

There LB and DE corps may be strong, but when they go up against a strong, veteran O-line like the Patriots and the Saints, then their pass rush tends to be neutralized, which means they are sitting ducks on the secondary. And if I remember correctly, Dunta Robinson got traded to the Falcons from the Texans around 6 months ago, which was obviously a stupid move made by the Texans.

And I guess I can understand the idea of KC as a potential team to beat New England, but I still find it highly laughable, Cassel or no Cassel.

If they can get the running game going and don't turn the ball over, then I might see a possiblity that KC could upset the Pats in the playoffs, but I have my doubts they can really pull that off.

Also, I just had to lol at the queen bitch of SN, saying that Michael Vick shouldn't be in ads and not be a superstar in the league, even though America is the land of second chances, and it's not like he clearly lost a step playing QB, while in prison. Not to mention that T.O is a cancer in the Bengals locker room, yet he never was arrested of anything in his carrer, {unlike nearly half of the roster for the Bengals}, and he happens to be the most productive WR on the team, at age 37 no less. The blame begins with Mike Brown, the biggest idiot owner in the NFL, who only got a hold of the franchise because of his father, Paul Brown, and the OC and the Head Coach should get a lot of the blame too, considering they're mismanaging the talent they have with their shitty playcalling.

New Mexico - Brigham Young vs. UTEP -

I'm going with UTEP on this one

Humanitarian - Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State -

Got to go with Fresno State easily, Northern Illinois seems to have a habit of choking in big games.

New Orleans - Troy vs. Ohio -

Going with an minor upset with Ohio.

Dec. 21
Beef O'Brady's - Louisville vs. Southern Mississippi -

Southern Miss

Dec. 22
Maaco Las Vegas - Utah vs. Boise State -

This is a rather interesting matchup between 2 overrated teams, Going with Boise St. over a soft Utah team.

Dec. 23
Poinsettia - San Diego State vs. Navy -

The triple option from Navy is going to be too much for San Diego State, Navy wins in a close one.

Dec. 24
Hawaii - Tulsa vs. Hawaii -

I'm going with the "home" team, Hawaii.

Dec. 26
Little Caesars - Florida International vs. Toledo -

I've got Toledo

Dec. 27
Independence - Georgia Tech vs. Air Force -

An interesting matchup between 2 teams that run virtually the same offense, I'm going with Air Force.

Dec. 28
Champs Sports - North Carolina State vs. West Virginia -

Got to go with West Virginia on this one

Insight - Iowa vs. Missouri -

I've got Mizzou easily, Iowa is a vastly overrated team that can't seem to hold on to a lead.

Dec. 29
Military - Maryland vs. East Carolina -

I'm sticking with Maryland on this one

Texas - Illinois vs. Baylor -

I've got the Illini of Illinois.

Alamo - Oklahoma State vs. Arizona -

Cowboys of Oklahoma State

Dec. 30
Armed Forces - SMU vs. Army -

The military schools make it a clean sweep with an Army win.

Pinstripe - Kansas State vs. Syracuse -

At least Yankee Stadium can hold a football game unlike Wrigley Field, I've got Kansas State.

Music City - North Carolina vs. Tennessee -

Got to go with the hot team, Tennessee.

Holiday - Nebraska vs. Washington -

Is this a joke, because Nebraska clobbered Washington once, and they'll do it again.

Dec. 31
Meineke Car Care - Clemson vs. South Florida -

Clemson, no question

Sun - Notre Dame vs. Miami (Fla.) -

20 years ago, these 2 teams were fighting it out for the national title, not so much now. Got to go with the Hurricanes of Miami.

Liberty - Central Florida vs. Georgia -

Georgia is on my mind, and I'm going with them

Chick-fil-A - Florida State vs. South Carolina -

When in doubt, go with an SEC team, South Carolina

Jan. 1
TicketCity - Northwestern vs. Texas Tech -

Texas Tech easily

Outback - Penn State vs. Florida -

I don't know how long Joe Pa can still coach Penn State, but I'm still going with Penn St. for the win.

Capital One - Michigan State vs. Alabama -

Going with the defending national title team, Alabama

Gator - Michigan vs. Mississippi State -

I'm going with Michigan, they have something to prove

***Rose*** - TCU vs. Wisconsin -

Is this another joke bowl?, because Wisconsin will wipe out TCU without breaking a sweat.

***Fiesta*** - Oklahoma vs. Connecticut -

If Oklahoma is worth their salt, they will win and win big.

Jan. 3
***Orange*** - Virginia Tech vs. Stanford -

This may be the most interesting BCS matchup outside of the National Title game. I'm going with Stanford.

Jan. 4
***Sugar*** - Ohio State vs. Arkansas -

If I remember correctly, Ohio State is 0-9 against SEC teams in bowl games, and they have never won a Sugar Bowl title, either. I'm going with Arkansas big.

Jan. 6
Go Daddy - Miami (Ohio) vs. Middle Tennessee -

Middle Tennessee

Jan. 7
Cotton - Texas A&M vs. LSU -

When in doubt, go with an SEC team {again}, LSU

Jan. 8
BBVA Compass - Kentucky vs. Pittsburgh -

Going with Pitt on this one, they are much more talented than Kentucky.

Jan. 9
Kraft Fight Hunger - Boston College vs. Nevada -

Going with the "giant" killers, Nevada.

Jan. 10
***BCS title game*** - Auburn vs. Oregon -

I have a feeling that the combined score would be in the 90's, I'm going with Auburn.

Tarvaris LOL. Sweet 1-game start streak; have fun struggling to ever get a starting NFL job again dude.

QB Colt McCoy picked to start the remaining three Browns games, Seneca Wallace likely to be the #2 QB so they can potentially run Wildcat formations; good call by Mangini, especially since Delhomme is downright putrid at this stage of his career.

Sorry for the d-post but here are also my Week 15 picks:

SF @ SD: San Diego (They have showed that they can be a strong team when working together and SF just isn't clicking at the moment, Besides them being a hot then cold team as well.)

BUF @ MIA: Miami

ARI @ CAR: ARI (Seems every week i'm always going against one of these two teams lol. But will pick the Cards to win easy in this one.)

NO @ BAL: Baltimore ( Going with Baltimore with the upset in this one. While the Saints may be a strong team if the Ravens defense can hold and Flacco can come through then I see no reason why they can't win this game.)

JAC @ IND: Jacksonville (The Colts are falling apart this season and think the downward spiral will continue this week against the Jags.)

DET @ TB: Tampa Bay (Detroit being one of the worst teams in the NFL and Tampa being a somewhat strong team they should win this one easily.)

PHI @ NYG: Eagles (Think Vick is just too strong right now and the Eagles have a lot of momentum going into the playoffs..)

KC @ STL: KC

WAS @ DAL: Washington

CLE @ CIN: Cle

HOU @ TEN: Texans

ATL @ SEA: Atlanta

NYJ @ PIT: The Steelers

DEN @ OAK: Denvee (While they may be on a losing streak I think my Broncos may have enough left in the tank to beat Oakland. But hopefully they can band together and play as a decent football team and not like they did against Arizona.)

GB @ NE: New England

CHI @ MIN: Chicago

SF @ SD:

I'm going with San Diego, the sad thing is whoever loses this game is still in the playoff race because the NFC west suck ass.

BUF @ MIA:

Got to go with Miami at home, maybe this time they'll win at home for once.

ARI @ CAR:

Cardinals, no question. Jay Feely may score more points than Carolina's offense, which would be embrassing to them.

NO @ BAL:

New Orleans is a hot team at the right time, I'm going with the Saints.

JAC @ IND:

Indianapolis should have won the last game, and they'll win this one.

DET @ TB:

Going with Tampa Bay at home.

PHI @ NYG:

This is a rather tough pick, but I'm giving my slight edge to Philly on this one.

KC @ STL:

I don't know if Cassel will play, but either way I still see KC winning on the road.

WAS @ DAL:

Going with the less disorganized team for the win, Dallas. {which isn't saying too much}

CLE @ CIN: You know what, I'm going with the Bengals here, the losing streak has to end sometime.
HOU @ TEN:

Finnegan vs. Johnson, Round 2. I've got Houston in a close one.

ATL @ SEA:

Yeah, I've got to go with the Falcons.

NYJ @ PIT:

This may be crazy, but I'm going with the Jets on this one. I still can't trust Pittsburgh's offense at all.

DEN @ OAK:

Da Raidahz sweep those Broncos at home.

GB @ NE:

Tom Brady vs. Green Bay without Rodgers, Got to go with the Patriots, and I have a feeling that this won't end well for the Pack.

CHI @ MIN:

For the 1st time in a long time, the Vikes are playing outside in -20 degree weather and a frozen field. Doesn't matter though, Da Bears bounce back.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
