Comments:

I decided to count Pandamir's votes even though half of them were late. Seeing that the Thursday night game was an honest pick and the rest seemed to be honest I allowed it. Please don't make a habit of this.

I hope I never pick a week like this again. Before this year I never had a losing week of picks. It really sucks. I'm sure Gooch isn't too proud either.

Still haven't lost in fantasy football though. There's a plus I guess.

I've been messing up on the weeks for some reason in the titles. I've fixed the problem this time around.

And Buddhist your right when the media being on top of injuries this year. Especially the concussions. Players have gotten concussions back then but it wasn't blown out so much unlike now. Anyway I had been wondering what team in the NFL right now has the best chance to get in the Super Bowl? Is it the Jets or last years winner Saints? Your opinion's?

I'm going with Chicago on the road.

Sunday:
BAL @ CAR

The Ravens, hands down.

HOU @ NYJ

I'm going with the Jets easily, Houston seems to fall apart around this time every year.

BUF @ CIN

I have Cincinnati winning, and they better not embrass themselves at home.

OAK @ PIT

Raiders win over ESPN's darling team, the Steelers.

CLE @ JAC

I've got to go with the Jags at home, I'm not buying into Cleveland yet.

DET @ DAL

Dallas, no question

ARI @ KC

The Chiefs bounce back against a pathetic Arizona team.

WAS @ TEN

Titans win big going up against a pathetic Washington defense.

GB @ MIN

The ship has sailed for Brett Farve, {possibly}. Going with the Packers on the road.

SEA @ NO

New Orleans should have no trouble with Seattle.

ATL @ STL

Atlanta is the best team in the NFC recordwise, they'll get it done against a sliding Rams team.

TB @ SF

Going with the Bucs on the road, I don't have too much faith in Troy Smith.

IND @ NE

New England

NYG @ PHI

I was back and forth with this one, but I have Philly in a close game.

Monday:
DEN @ SD

San Diego should have no trouble against a shitty Denver defense, San Diego wins at home.

God damn, I might have done better the last few weeks if I blindly picked teams via the process of iny-meeny-miny-mo.

Anyhow. Week 11:

Bears > Dolphins.

Bears run D is too good for underachieving Dolphins backs, so it will be up to Thigpen to prove he is a real QB... which I`m not sold on.

It sounded like almost everyone had a bad week of picks, myself included. Just one of those weeks where every pick looked like a slam dunk, but came out anything but when the dust settled on Week 10.

One thing I can't seem to understand is why don't they air the NFL Network on basic cable, considering it is the most popular sports league in the country, and I figured it would get a cable channel somewhere. They did this before in 2007 when the Patriots went 16-0, and they were aired by CBS and NBC, if I'm not mistaken. Why couldn't they put the NFL Network on basic cable much like the Big Ten Channel {where I live} or any other conference channel?

Average week on the picks last time though it looked like nobody did much better either,i doubt i'll have as good of a fantasy week as i did last time scoring 326 points with Michael Vick accounting for 57 of those single handed.

I'll go with the Bears tonight. Don't want to pick all of the NFL games just in case something comes up like a big injury or someone getting arrested or something.

I wish NFL network was on basic cable. It'd be nice to be able to watch NFL on thursday.

Well guys I been thinking. Since Vick is being a monster and the field and can't be stopped is he one if not the best QB right now? His stats are outrageous when he plays a game. So is he one of the best?

Right now, Vick is certainly in the conversation for not only the best QB in the league, but also for MVP as well {along with Manning, Brady and possibly Rivers.} In the past, Mike Vick was a scramble first QB, and the times when he did throw in Atlanta, he often rolled out of the pocket, which was a total crapshoot in itself, in terms of completions, TDs and INTs.

Now, he has much more poise in the pocket, and still has the ability to run away from defenders from time to time. Not to mention, his QB rating and his TD to INT ratio, which is 11 TDs to no picks. If Vick has a similar performance against the Giants like he did against Washington, then he certainly deserves to be MVP.

Phillip Rivers is well on track to break the all time passing yards in a season record, all while having his top receivers injured or holding out for most of the season. Without him, that offense wouldn't be shit. Instead, it's one of, if not the best in the NFL. I think if he breaks Marinos record, there's pretty much no question who the MVP is.

Response to American Football Discussion 2010-11-20 08:49:51

I actually think the thing that has helped Vick the most is the fact that he's a tad bit slower then he use to be back in the day. Since he's lost this step not only is he in the pocket longer, but when he leaves the pocket he's seeing the field for a longer time as he's about a half second slower than he use to be.

That and don't you guys remember watching him at Atlanta? I remember him throwing about 10 perfect passes a game that were dropped by wide open receivers. The stats made him look bad, but it was really the receivers that dropped his stats down.

He was always good, but now he has an offense to compliment him. If he keeps his interceptions low like he has and keeps winning I have no doubt in my mind that he'll win MVP. The MVP is going to be someone who has a winning season. That's the only thing that could come back to haunt some of the other players.

That's what suprises me. Phillip can and is holding the whole offense now. No receivers(or starters to be exact) or helping the problem. But generally Even though Phillip is probably the better QB Vick's stats make him look better though. Then again there just numbers.

Is it me, or is Lou Holtz the most senile college football analyst on ESPN. Granted, almost every analyst on ESPN {but especially in college football} has some degree of bias and spin attached, but Lou is the biggest Notre Dame honk there, and you can put Herbstreit on there with his Ohio St. bias as well. Most of us knew that Michigan didn't stand much of a chance against Wisconsin, myself included, even if Clay didn't show up at all {At least they didn't score 83 on us, thank god.}

I don't even listen to the local sports radio station very much anymore, considering Common Man and the Torque are the biggest Browns and Buckeye honks out there, they act like Jim Tressel and Eric Mangini are football gods, and everyone else to be talking heads and lowly trash, which I would kind of expect from somebody that lives in Columbus, or possibly Cleveland, and has no outside knowledge of the sports world beyond Ohio State and the Browns.

Sorry for going slightly off topic there, but isn't there an honest sports reporter anymore?

At least it wasn't as stupid as May Day picking Army to beat Notre Dame

I watched bits and pieces of that game while I was at work last night and really there was never a doubt Notre Dame was going to win that game just from what I saw.

Well when you have one reporter who coached and won a National Championship with one team and the other who lived in Ohio and QB'ed for the other, sure there is going to be some bias. College loyalties run deep.

I don't care who Oklahoma plays for example; I'll still pick them over anyone even in a subpar season.

The only reason Mark did that was just to not give Lou the satisfaction of picking Notre Dame.

It's official, The Cincinnati Bengals are the most embrassing team in the league, by far, losing a massive lead to a shit Buffalo team is now rock bottom of the AFC. I think I'm going to be sick.

Normally, I don't want to change coaches in the middle of the season, but this time, I will make a big exception to the rule, for that embrassing chokejob {and embrassing season overall}, Marvin Lewis and Bob Bratkowski needs to be fired posthaste, that is if Mike Brown has the balls to do such a thing. There also needs to be a massive house cleaning of the team starting at the end of the season, because the Palmer/Ochocinco/Lewis era is over, and there has been very little success to mention during this time.

Yesterday I stopped by College Gameday outside of Wrigley Field for the Illinois-Northwestern game on the way to the tailgate I was going to. It was ok, but watching a bum in a raggy orange sweatshirt calling Northwestern fans faggots outside of a McDonalds for five straight minutes was far more entertaining.
