Yeah, I found that kinda funny, but also kinda lame if thats possible. Course I thought Jason Avant coming in to "help out" kinda screwed the pooch there, making it a 2+ person excessive celebration for a 15 yard penalty.

It wasn't Avant's fault. If Celek had any leg strength, Avant wouldn't have had to step in, but the NFL would have found out anyway. Sure it lost them 15 yards on the kickoff, but the fact that Celek couldn't raise his leg high enough on national television should be punishment enough.

I was just thinking about giving you a loss for that game instead of moving you to the riff-raft section since only you missed one game instead of an entire weeks worth. A nice compromise?

Who else thinks Bill Belichick made one of the worst coaching decisions of his career tonight? Seriously why the fuk would you risk giving them the ball back when you're on your own 28 with two minutes left. Just punt the fucking thing.

Well deserved that he lost that game. I know he's regretting it big time.

He must have someone like Brady or the O-Line yelling in his ear to go for it. There is little excuse for a veteran coach to not block all that out and do the sensible thing which was to punt; especially if it's two yards. Who knows; he must have not had any trust in his defense at all to make that call.

The look on his face is worth 200.

I've been watching SportsCnter talk about the call now for 20 minutes, which is kind of expected, but Jon Gruden had a good point. He said you don't want to give Peyton Manning the ball, he was up two touchdowns against him with 5 minutes left and his team punted the abll back to Indy twice and they came back an down by three in overtime.

Maybe he was just that scared of Manning, but how can you not trust your defense that badly. 60-70 yards with 2 minutes left and one timeout?

Agreed. Even though Manning is Manning, you can't risk giving any team 30 yards to score. And if you are going to go for it, try to run your route past the line, and then fall down and run forward once you do get the ball.

I never really liked the guy, but I never really disliked him either. If anything I always wished my team had a coach that won like he did. That being said, Sunday's game puts him in arrogant asshole territory in my opinion. Some think the call was gutsy, I call it stupid.

What he should've done was remember the Dallas @ Philly game last Sunday night, I'm sure he caught the highlights. Reid tried the same thing at around midfield and blew it and Romo hit Austin for the game winning Touchdown. I don't care how much faith or lack thereof you have in your defense, you make Peyton drive 70+ yards or so, not risk giving it to him with less than 30.

Anywho, picks weren't all that hot for me this week, along with many others. At least we're not alone. I love to check out the ESPN "expert" picks and well, oh man look at all that red below the unanimous Vikings pick in week 10.
Link. Well, that's why they play the game.

The Patriots going for it on 4th down while they're ahead isn't surprising at all to me, even without the Peyton Manning context. It's just a matter that it finally came back to bite them in the ass, which is another thing I'm not surprised about, but I do enjoy it.

Yea in a way you have to hand it to him for having balls. Was is ego in the way? Yea probably way too much, which is why he made the call in my opinion. Is he still the best coach in the NFL? Yea, probably. You can't fault the guy for his overall abilities.

Well yea I mean that's clearly why you don't do that. The risks outweigh the benefits, clear and simple. 30-40 less yards is a lot in under two minutes with no timeouts. Funny part is, it wasn't even Manning that got most of the yards on that final play anyway! For some reason I am also glad that it bit him in the ass, I just don't like his overall arrogance I guess.

On another note. What the hell happened to my Cowboys?! Green Bay allows 76 points in two games including against the worst team in the NFL (the Bucs) and the Cowboys can't even get more than a touchdown in the dying minutes of the game!! I was so pissed off. I don't know who to blame more, Jason Garrett's play calling or Romo's general complete inconsistency? I had a feeling with the way he was playing he was bound to have a horrible game. Seriously, the Packers defense is not that good, and they are mostly down to back-ups. It just boggled me. It was seriously one of the most boring games I've watched in a long time.

People don't go for it enough on fourth down. I didn't watch the game so I can't comment, but Belicheck will make as many retarded decisions in a season as Chilly does every week

Frankly, I think this game highlights how inconsistent the NFC is, and particularly the NFC East. Giants go 5-0 to start, then lose 4 straight. Dallas plays the Giants well when they're rolling but lose and beat the Eagles in Philly, but can't put away Green Bay and struggle to beat Kansas City. Eagles can't beat Oakland, and still struggle to do anything in the 4th quarter when they had chances to beat Dallas and San Diego. Washington is awful, but finds a way to beat Denver. Green Bay loses to Tampa, yet shuts out Dallas for most of their game. I could go on and on.

Realistically I'd say there are only 4 very good teams right now in the whole of the NFL: Saints, Colts, Vikings and Patriots. San Diego I'd say is a "hot" team, but I don't think I'd put them in the very good category just yet. I can't buy Cincinnati until they prove to me that they can finish strong and win playoff games; Denver has fallen back to earth. Pittsburgh gets swept by a team that I can't buy, so by the transitive property/deduction I can't buy them as of now. Arizona has a good record, but they play in the division with the worst winning % and they still lost to San Francisco at home and Carolina.
Everyone else is pretty much mediocre at best, and at worst they're the Lions/Rams/Bucs/Browns.

On another note, I'm sure most of you have seen the articles that say Belichick statistically made the right call. If not, here's one of them. That specific simulation had the Pats a 79% chance of winning had they went for it on 4th and 2, whereas the percentage of winning when punting was only 70%. Other simulations had a much smaller margin like 2%, but still argue that he made the right call. Frankly, I still think he made the wrong call, computer simulations or no computer simulations.

Some argue that he went for the win by going on 4th and 2, but like I said previously, I see it as him having no faith in his defense to stop Manning with that little time left and having to go probably 70+ yards. Maybe that's true and is why he went for it, but I guess I think higher of the Pats defense than he does. Then again he's the coach, he would know better than I. Still, I think he was needlessly putting the entire game on the line with 1 play, instead of having Manning run most likely several plays to get a touchdown, any one or two or three of which could go the Pats way.

Week 11 Schedule:

Two struggling teams that are very similar. Great run offense. A Ted Ginn kickoff return makes the difference.

Miami

Washington at Dallas -

If Dallas loses this one, I'm picking them to lose the rest of the season. This isn't a game they can lose after that horrible game at Green Bay.

Dallas

Cleveland at Detroit -

Two very similar teams on paper. Both completely atrocious, with rookie starting quarterbacks. I'll give this one to Detroit just cause they are playing at home.

Detroit

San Francisco at Green Bay -

Packers gain confidence from their win against Dallas. With freezing temperatures at Lambeau field, the Pack takes this one.

Green Bay

Pittsburgh at Kansas City -

This one is too easy.

Pittsburgh

Atlanta at NY Giants -

The Giants stop the incessant bleeding and snap a losing streak.

New York

New Orleans at Tampa Bay -

New Orleans

Buffalo at Jacksonville -

The Bills start Fitzpatrick, but he fails to find T.O. just as much as Edwards did.

Jacksonville

Indianapolis at Baltimore -

The Colts keep rollin', rollin', rollin' a la Fred Duerst

Indianapolis

Seattle at Minnesota -

Who would have thought that at 40 years old, Favre would be having the best year of his whole career. Seattle does not have enough to stop the Vikings multi headed attack.

Minnesota

Arizona at St. Louis -

A 1 and 8 Rams team cannot stop a Cardinals team that is back to playing like they did last year in the home stretch and the playoffs.

Arizona

NY Jets at New England -

Hmm I just want the Jets to come into Foxborough and Rex Ryan to have his way with Bill Belichick.

New York

Cincinnati at Oakland -

Cincinnati

San Diego at Denver -

San Diego is too hot for Denver right now.

San Diego

Philadelphia at Chicago -

With Westbrook out again the Eagles get shut down by the Bears defense.

Chicago

Tennessee at Houston -

Vince Young finally shows that he deserves the starting position and Tennessee takes this one in a high scoring, tight game.

No surprise there. I'm still waiting for the hammer to drop on Mangini too.

Anywho, I'm feeling good even with the horrible last week picks. Why? Well I can't do any worse can I? Bounce-back time.

yeah right...
Week 11 Schedule:
Miami at Carolina -

Carolina has only won 2 games in a row once this season, and that was against Washington and then Tampa successively. I don't see them winning two in a row here.
Miami

Washington at Dallas -

Dallas

Cleveland at Detroit -

Both are 1-8 teams, both have young QBs that are struggling. They're 31st and 32nd respectively in the league of yardage given up. So that's all pretty much a wash. Mangini - even though he's done a poor job with the Browns - has more experience at head coach than Schwartz.
Cleveland

San Francisco at Green Bay -

Green Bay

Pittsburgh at Kansas City -

Pittsburgh

Atlanta at NY Giants -

Giants have had a week off to reflect on losing 4 in a row and prepare for Atlanta. I don't think they like losing much right now.
New York

New Orleans at Tampa Bay -

New Orleans

Buffalo at Jacksonville -

Jauron's out. That's not a good thing right now, perhaps in the future, but not now.
Jacksonville

Indianapolis at Baltimore -

Colts are riding high, but I have a feeling this might be a close one.
Indianapolis

Minnesota

Arizona at St. Louis -

Arizona

NY Jets at New England -

Belichick will take his anger over last week's loss out on the Jets... I think
New England

Cincinnati at Oakland -

Cincinnati

San Diego at Denver -

San Diego

Philadelphia at Chicago -

2 struggling teams, both desperately needing a win to keep themselves relevant in the wild card/division races. Philly has played well in Chicago over the past decade or so, but lost in their most recent trip there due to red zone and 4th down problems (sound familiar?). It's also an NBC Sunday Night game, which the Eagles are 0-7 in. That said, Cutler has been bad this year too. Both teams have similar defensive numbers, are pass happy, and have a sub-par rushing game. Still, I can't see Donovan laying an egg in his hometown, nor the Eagles shooting themselves in their feet again, even though they're very capable of doing so.

Now watch the Bears end up winning :/ after I said that. But I'm still going with

Philadelphia

Tennessee at Houston -
