Dude... you need to come to some sort of decision on how to handle people with no change in VP since last update. If you want to go with "+0.00" as you seem to, then get rid of humantarget's "UNCH." and add a + sign to good_guy_o's 0.00.

Or, alternatively, I could just send you a template of Newgrundling's Excel file for teh VP list-makery that automatically does the +/- signs and the "UNCH." for people who haven't moved up or down more than 0.01 based upon nothing but the VP amounts you input. All you have to do is type/paste input into teh cells and sort the list and bim bam boom, the list outputs in the above format automatically. How the hell do you think I made 50+ updates like that without getting tired of shit. It was all thanks to NGling, as I've said many times. So anyway, yes... if you have Excel, you should be using his template.

If you updated down to 115 and then didn't check anyone else's VP, how do you know the last 15 or so is accurate? Some of the people who used to be down at around 130 or so might have ranked up and passed many of the people you put on the list. Come on, man... the interests of ACCURACY must be respected. #;-}>

Always check more id#s than you intend to put on the list. Back when I was running the top 500, I checked 1300+ id#s each week (granted, that was with NG Lister)... at the very least, if you're going to run a top 100, you should be checking the top 100 + another 50 or so to ensure no one sneaks onto the list without you knowing.

Note any mistakes I made, though I loved having fun with some of gfox's liiikkeee

Dude, the way you just worded shit is very unclear. Do you mean the +1 rankchange even though he's got a -0.01 seems strange? That's not impossible under any stretch of teh imagination. Someone can fall in VP but someone else who was ahead of them could fall faster (due to the way exp/VP works) and thus they could get a +1 in rankchange even though they're moving DOWN in VP, not up. So let's see what happened...

I think she just gets a few blams and saves when she's depositing her exp. She's not trying to rankup, just letting it happen when it happens. It'll probably be 2006 by the time she does so (unless she changes her behaviour, yes).

In any event, I didn't say I was going to stay ahead of HAQ for all time, just that I was going to pass her soon. Once I get past Ryo, though... I'll be ahead of him... FOREVAR!

Grooveh. I currently have two .xls files for teh VP listings. One is the old one for the top 500s (and before that, the 7.5/6.0 updates)... it has nearly 100 data columns from all of my updates and all of NGling's updates. As a result, it's like 1.5 megs. I won't be sending that one to ya, obviously.

BUT... I happened to make a custom "only 500 people instead of 1300+ people" .xls for the purpose of making the top 101 back on May 31st... and it only has three columns of update data (the final top 500, the 100/200 that officially ended the weekly lists, and the one-time 101). It's much smaller and probably more useful for ya. I'll try to explain how to use it in the e-mail, but if you have any problems, feel free to ask me in here (you'll probably get answered faster than via e-mail).

I'm not infallible, but the mistakes I usually make on list updates are in the list notes or stats. Little typos or misspellings... I don't tend to make errors (well, not many important ones, at least) in the actual lists themselves (mostly because the .xls files are foolproof... as you will find out soon).

Yes two rank ups if I have .13 vp increase just recently with 9.20 which is 9.33 plus and exp I will get but it may not work if the bottom people on the list keep increasing there vp.

Haha, i learned the hard way aswell i guess, ive missed 6 months of depositing, i should be level 16 by now, bleh, fuck. The only help i can give DarkSytze, is to make alot of chums on here, and hope one of them will deposit for you in your need.

It depends on how many blam and protection points you get each day bringing you closer to a rank up. That and deposits, I think ever 5 or so, give you a plus 0.01 to your base VP.

Every 5 of what? Blams/Protects or deposit points. I do notice that my VP does go up when I deposit 2/3 times, so it obviously helps.

I think he was trying to say, that for every five days you deposit your base VP increases 0.01 :D Its obvious, if you blam protect more, the more you rank up and the more % you get added to your base VP, just keep blamming and protecting and eventually you will hit 7.00 VP.

The base VP only goes up after a certain amount of days depending upon how much experience points a person has. My base VP goes up .01 about every 3 or so weeks... but for someone else it may be 5 days.. But the best way to increase VP tremendously... is to keep racking up BP points. yea.. I did the same thing. I gave it a 1 though... It was basically a dress-up type flash.. but with lightsabers... very unoriginal because I've seen this done before quite a few times already...

It took me 849 days, but I'm finally there. A goal I set myself in my first months of NG has now been realised - a Voting Power of 10. I ranked up two days ago, boosting me to a near-perfect 9.99, and then spent the following two days battling humantarget 52 to retain my fourth VP digit. Going by the latest list, that should place me around the 74th rank. Gone are the days where I'd worry about securing my place on the list, eh?

You mean one times a day 7 days a week if you want vp increase you have to deposit every day. and 2 time I guess for your alt. I think my next rank up will come a lot faster than the last ones. I hope it puts me over 9.38 though.

Well sometimes I can deposit 2 times before I go to bed. I live on the west coast so the NG time is 3 hours ahead of me. So I deposit now and after 9pm. But after that I miss 24 hours >,< I don't really think it helps or goes against.

well, a VP for a user under level 10 who has EGSC would be lower.... and anyway.. it may take over a year to reach EGSC which means during that time a user is most likely going to deposit if they vote on so many movies per day. :P
