The differences are very small, and a rank up in b/p really boosts you up a couple of spots. I currently have enough exp to be in the top 50, it's just a matter of time before I get to EGSC and then it's a question of how big the requirments are for top 50. Still, there is plenty of climbing in front of me.

yeah if I wasnt so greedy with my main in b/p I would go for Private for my alt.

Up from Security Guard to Police Officer now, even though I've hardly done any b/p this past week (maybe 20-40 or so). Looking forward to Sergeant and then Lieutenant, mostly for the voting power boosts... but also because I'll be closer to my short term 500/500 goal and that lonely-golden-badge that awaits/awaited us there.

Right, which is why I said you need more exp than fixit. Then if you ever WERE to get to EGSC, you'd have more VP than him, and probably 10.00+ (although he's what now, 9.92 and still dropping? I guess at some point, there's not going to be much left about fixit's VP that's all that impressive. He'll be out of the top 200 before we know it!).

Getting in the v/p list isnt hard if your a good b/per or have really high exp. but I wont get in top 100 exp for years oh well top 200 here I come.

I just moved up from 109 to 108 myself, so top 100 IS possible. But yeah, it takes years of depositing to even get close, let alone into it. And it's only getting harder all the time. Top 200 is not bad, though, take it from me. I've enjoyed my many many many months in the top 200.

I will remeber to change it in post message if I change in excel the calcuations could mess up.

Newgrundling programmed his spreadsheet, the one that he used for almost a year and I used for over a year... to just spit out UNCH. if last update's and this update's VPs were the same. Here's how it works:

I1 = last update's VP, H1 = current VP. That bit of code decides whether to put "+x.xx" "-x.xx" or "UNCH" for the VP change part of each line in the update.

Hey, I didn't say anything about yours, I don't consider it a rip-off at all. Sure it features the same ranks as mine has since March 3rd, 2004... but:

A) those are NG's ranks, not mine, I just hit them with this account back in late 2003/early 2004 on the way to EGSC and finally retirement...

B) they're all sprucified-up, not the actual NG rank badges like mine are. Thus the sigpic looks different. That said, sometimes I'm scrolling through a topic quickly and I see it going by quickly and think to myself "wait... I didn't post on this page, what gives?!?" And then realise it's you (or someone else with a similar sigpic). This used to happen all the time when TooCool posted a lot with his similar-to-mine sigpic as well.

Oh come now. Firstly... those are just letters standing in for usernames. They're not grades for the VPs. If they were, 5.00 would probably get a Z or something. Up from Security Guard to Police Officer now, even though I've hardly done any b/p this past week (maybe 20-40 or so). Looking forward to Sergeant and then Lieutenant, mostly for the voting power boosts... but also because I'll be closer to my short term 500/500 goal and that lonely-golden-badge that awaits/awaited us there.

i slowly getting close to the police badges. I am sure I will get their soon if on some weekend I forget to log out and get 50 points on sunday.

Right, which is why I said you need more exp than fixit. Then if you ever WERE to get to EGSC, you'd have more VP than him, and probably 10.00+ (although he's what now, 9.92 and still dropping? I guess at some point, there's not going to be much left about fixit's VP that's all that impressive. He'll be out of the top 200 before we know it!).

I will check fixits b/p to see how far its dropped time to time.

I just moved up from 109 to 108 myself, so top 100 IS possible. But yeah, it takes years of depositing to even get close, let alone into it. And it's only getting harder all the time. Top 200 is not bad, though, take it from me. I've enjoyed my many many many months in the top 200.

I guess top 100 I will get their at level 21. But I going for top 200 hopefully I will get there before 3092006

Newgrundling programmed his spreadsheet, the one that he used for almost a year and I used for over a year... to just spit out UNCH. if last update's and this update's VPs were the same. Here's how it works:

I1 = last update's VP, H1 = current VP. That bit of code decides whether to put "+x.xx" "-x.xx" or "UNCH" for the VP change part of each line in the update.

Now already know when I'll break the 14vp and it on the long road to 25.
So I get a small bonus on that road.
The best part it only takes a few minutes to deposit.

Hell, I could have just made about 20 more deposits and I'd have THAT covered.

I think you mean I could have been #1. I've been saying that since I hit EGSC almost two years ago, silly. It's a widely known fact.

But I will say this: "close to half" it may be, but for all of 2003 and most of 2004, I'd missed well OVER half my potential deposits.

I'm down to missing 45-48% or so of them, I'd guess, and as I continue to deposit every single day, the percentage only drops and drops. By 2010, it'll be under 30% (missed most of 2000, 2001, and 2002... but deposited almost all of 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009... 7 years deposited, 3 years not... 70% success rate).

So that's what I'm trying to do. Make my negligence back in 2000-2002 count for less and less and less. It can never count for nothing, but proporationally-speaking... I decrease its importance with each and every day I deposit on NG. BY DEPOSITING, I ATONE FOR MY SINS. :::nods solemnly:::

And besides, I've done enough other cool stuff with this account that I don't feel all that bad about not being a borin' ol' stuck-at-level 29 top 10 exp user (though that would be sweet in some ways, yes... mostly for the VP, though, not the level).

Like I said, let me know if you want me to e-mail you the file and it'll make everything much more understandable. I'd paste you the entire bit of code for how to create NGling/gfox-style VP list update lines, but then I'd have to explain how to make all the columns and shit so the code actually works for you... or else you'd have to figure it all out yourself...

and neither of those is very good, so it's easier to just show you by sending you the .xls file. Let me know in here if you're interested.
