Asking to be scouted is a quick way to get yourself banned. Just saying.

I'll always scout people that I like enough, so if you continue requesting reviews from here, you'll get scouted eventually if the music is good :). We've honestly never been too strict about requesting to be scouted in this thread, and it's not like you were blatantly asking to be scouted, so no worries :).

Just wanted to nip it in the bud. You know how many people make threads asking to be scouted for Geometry Dash, even now that no one on NG, not even people scouting you, can guarantee your track will get on GD. Asking to be scouted is a stated no-no, and doing it repeatedly will get you banned.
As a rule, you need 4 or so pieces to be scouted, and in practice, it shouldn't take long as long as you're minding the rules and putting out good content.
Sorry if I sounded harsh @DJ-Silent. We've had a lot of problems with this in the past. I see you've responded to the review I left. Feel free to send me a PM if you need some extra help troubleshooting what's causing that volume fluctuation/artefact issue.

I will follow the rule but take a note, im not trying to be scouted for geometry dash but for getting on audio portal, i dont know if IgnaxioYT wants to do something with my submission but ok, im new here so i didnt knew the rule, thanks.
Still is not like you need to say a poem just because i said "sorry" xD

I know, I talk too much, lol. Anyway if you haven't checked out the rules of 1 request per ... week? Two weeks? @Ectisity probably remembers better than me.
Also was just trying to put out there if you did intend to get on GD after being scouted, you'd have to ask RobTop directly.

Shoutout to @BrolfThePaladin who reviewed all the tracks :)
As we only have 3 requests this round, I've decided to include both of @dodgecagon34 's tracks on the list. Let's shower the few requests we have with feedback :D.
ps. @allinatorbeats I noticed you reviewed some of the requests this week. Want me to add you to the tag list for these posts :)?

Ahhh c'mon @Ectisity, that's what I'm here for ;)
It's a little bit weird having this less requests. Hmph, I should upload some stuff by myself and see how it gets reviewed xD

Would hardly call that a review, 2/5 without any feedback except "I can see you put effort into it"
Leave reviews to people who know what they're talking about when it comes to music dude.
So is this thread still kind of active? I really enjoyed the old scoring system where people got points for reviews and could climb the rankings. If something like that is still going on or is starting up again I'd love to join back up again, but I don't want to necessarily put the effort in myself to make the lists.
@Fro Do you remember what the stats used to look like? I'd be willing to give it a go, I have free time and a desire to do something with it, I can run the RRC for a bit and if @Ectisity doesn't mind, I will keep it moving forward, make this active again and get people reviews on their stuff!
Also, if anyone wants anything reviewed, message me, mention me in this thread or whatever way you want to communicate with me (telepathy?) and I will look at your thing and write something.
@Fro @TehBerg
I do consider this club to still be active, though I don't really make update posts that often anymore. There are very few requests nowadays compared to before, so the few active members tend to just review them as they come in.
The point system was removed just before I took over the club. The reasons for it was that a lot of people had gotten tired of the point system and stopped enjoying writing review, thus resulting in the reviews dropping in quality. Also, another problem was that members were given "strikes" if they didn't review any tracks, so a lot of people started feeling forced to write half-assed reviews. Thus we decided to remove the ranking and point system and let people review the requests because they want to and not because they have to.
I welcome all help I can get with running this club :)

In it's prime the club did much more than write reviews. It PM'd animators and game developers who were submitting new submissions under judgement about our club after leaving them a really good review. We were a community that held conversation. This thread is literally just links to audio submissions without any direction really. I mean, maybe there's more to it, but from an outsider that's what it looks like. I'd see no reason to join this club if I were somebody who didn't know what it was about.

That's a shame. It was never the attitude before. I wonder what changed it. It's weird how certain groups see competition as a good thing and how it stresses others out to write mediocre reviews and to move on. We use to have fun with it, even made flash submissions together with us reading the results for best flash submissions of the year.
I like to review things, but there's no motivation for me to do it from this club.

I suppose we can work out how to make a point system that works for everyone without punishing them, so those who want to score points can and those who don't, wouldn't need to worry about it! I'm sure that can be done, since I know people love seeing stats. It's also a great way to get an idea of how many reviews have been done by the group in a week.

Newgrounds has changed I'm afraid. A lot of people have left the site and the community isn't what it once was. The prime time of the RRC was also the prime time of NG which is long gone. Impossible to compare to that time when there honestly isn't even enough people willing to participate in the community these days.
While I do get that it's good to have some motivation, you gotta understand the effort both me an others have put into this club these last two years. It's not like the club has been "dead" since the last time you were here. We've been running monthly "reviewer of the month" contests, offered reviews to participants in NGAUC and AIM and scouted new artists who've had trouble getting noticed. This club still holds value without the point system.
Also, for anyone who wants to know what the club is about, the original topic post has been edited several times to explain this.
The few members in this club like to review stuff and give others helpful feedback. That's why this somewhat around. I get the feeling of wanting some motivation, and I've considered bringing back a point system, which is why I did monthly "reviewer of the month" draws last year, but it both has it's pros and cons.

I'm all for the idea if you want to try it out. I tried something similar last year, but maybe it will work better now.
The old system was based on giving each person a certain amount of points for each review + a bonus if they reviewed all the requests. And the rankings would we made public every two weeks together with the new requests
Well tracking/point system or not. I suppose it's worth a shot again. I'll sit back and review some of the more recent ones and then try to get every submission after this post.
I'm willing to give it a shot, here is a template I would probably go with using, looking at the previous structure. It can be done each week on a Wednesday, since it's the day awards go out for the week too, it's the best way to remember updates. People can choose to be on the list or not and they stay on it for until they choose to leave it. That way there is no pressure to review to stay on the list, you sign up as a member of the RRC, until death!
It might also be worth splitting it up into each of the portals, since some people may only choose to review audio and that's cool, just so long as people say what their focus is. It also means people can be pinged based on what they focus on.

The audio people are pretty much the only ones who ask for requests here. The art portal have their own feedback thread, and games and movies tend to get a lot of reviews anyway so they're not as desperate. The members of this club is usually made up of musicians, so splitting it into portals might cause the rare art or game request to be ignored

It's a shame. My favorite things to review are games/animations. The art and music can be nice to review, but because I don't know much about it my reviews end up being misguided opinions and I always make sure my reviews score on the high end because I don't want to score something lower than it deserves because of my ignorance.
That being said, this flash submission that was posted a couple pages back is really original. I love seeing the different ideas that people come up with.

It would only get missed if people if people didn't want to review it, since a list of everything would go up in an update, it means people can see what they want to go through and review. If people were only reviewing music anyway, art would get missed, so I don't think that'd matter.
Also, flash don't get that many reviews, only if you are a known member, your work is exceptional or something else stood out would people consider reviewing it. I have two flash, neither have a single review to their name! Not that I care, but it just seems the everyday flash won't get reviewed that often. Which is going to mean some form of publishing of the group to get people who want a review to know where to go.
I dunno, just thoughts and observations!
