I can say the same for Cheechoo (finally) as the Sharks realise it's best to let him play with Thornton

Trading him as he starts to heat up is a bit suspect. You should've waited it out a few games to see if he was back to last year's for or just momentarily hot.
If he keeps up his recent success you'll really eat it.
Although, you did get the better blueliner in the deal, and you'll be able to flip Kozlov once Yashin returns from injury.

I think it was a good deal for me as if he stayed mediocre, I wouldn't get much for him at all.

Yeah, but the same can be said for any trade, especially the Joe Thornton trade. Boston would have asked for a lot more had they known what an impact he'd have in San Jose.

We'll see how things pan out.

Actually, joe had the a nearly identical scoring pace while in Boston. He overshot it by a small handful of points.

Not his personal performance, he turned the Sharks into a genuine playoff contender, rather than a team that would make the playoffs and get written off straight away.
It may not have been a fullproof scheme, but it is the start of one
Round two of the Sharks/Ducks season series is tomorrow. The first meeting proved to be total domination by the Ducks. I imagine the Sharks will be pretty fired up for this one, especially since they have the loss against LA to be angry about.
SO win for the sharks, with nabs getting 35+ saves.
Also, tonight, I became the first person to cross the 900 point barrier. 1,000 is in sight.

Yeah, but fourth is still home-ice advantage, isn't it?
And at least you're in the playoffs, Colorado's barely a .500 team :(

You know, if I knew this much would come of a campaign for Rory Fitzpatrick, I would've done the same thing for Scott Thornton a couple years back. I think it's too late for this year, but I guess we could make a campaign for '08.
Actually, I imagine they might not let him go, because voting scripts have emerged to skew everything.
As for your campaign next year, I'd be slightly surprised if a fan vote remained in place. I'd much rather prefer that the players choose who goes. Each player in each conference gets a vote, only you can't vote for someone on your team.
Because, srsly. Seeing Cheechoo with more votes than Selanne makes me sick. I realize Cheech had a good year last season, but c'mon. Not this year.

Hence why I pulled the trigger and traded him away, cutting my losses!

Speaking of trigger pulling, I let Svatos and the rejuvenated Ray Whitney go for slick playmaker Ales Hemsky, Jason Arnott, and underachieving Doan.
Svatos and his lack of production have been frustrating to watch this year, so when the offer came in I went for it.
I get the feeling I'll regret giving up Hemsky and possibly Arnott or Doan at some point, I dunno. Most likely Hemsky because he's young & talented.

Personally, I think that he's one of the best Goalies in the league. Get a better defense infront of him and the Habs can go far.
Hence the reason why he's on my fantasy team, I think he's one of my few bright spots

And to think you tried to retrade for fernandez early.
As for my goaltending situation, Nabs became the first shark netminder to get two straight starts, and since he draws the coyotes tonight.
I'm a little worried about my top spot, though. I draw a pretty light schedule over the next little while and it'd be easy for pope to close up the gap.

Oh man, Doan's on a role.
Probably trying to increase his trade value or something.
And how about Shanahan dropping the gloves? Surprised he did it against Brash, of all people.

Yeah, but ultimately, that's your loss for not snapping up Huet, who is overall a marginally better keeper IMO
COL 4-2 NSH: A decent showing from the Avs, though we need to string together 2-3 wins on the trot if we're going to mount a half-decent challenge for the division...

more like 5-4, with vpoy getting four goals from it :D
With the plus minus thrown in, I managed to scoop up 20 points on 5 players. Since I traded for doan, he has 4 goals and 5 assists, including 2 GWG goals, in just 5 games.
Thanks budddhsidhsihfihst.
5-3 even.
doh!
The nagy-yanic assists on the powerplay pushed me over 200 in the category.

Sorry, I thought it was a final at that - still, Budaj gets the win and a few saves to boot. Small steps in the right direction...
