Oh, and I'm sure it'll just get worse as their road trip continues. Gainey thought he could do better, but it looks like the players are back to square 1 and not trying.

Dez follows hockey? I wasn't aware of that...

Hey yall. I joined this club...well awhile ago. I wasn't active in it because I left newgrounds for awhile shortly after. Just wondering if I'm still part of the club, or if I can rejoin, because I REALLY want to start talking hockey again.

As far as I can tell, you don't really get booted, just talk hockey and everything will go swimmingly.

Also, lol@thekings

They signed Valeri Bure to a 1 year contract and he won't play a single game for them. He got injured before the season, and now he's had surgery.

Hmm I hope your right. And to your Bure thing, I believe that's the second time this season that he's had surgery. Once for his lower back and now his hip. It might get the Kings thinking if he can stay healthy.

Well, his contract was only for a season, and I doubt they'd resign such an injury prone guy.

Then again, they picked up Demitra and he's starting to go down.

Mario Lemieux has decided to hang up his skates... again.

He has cited injuries and "The new NHL is really for the young guys. They are the future of the NHL."

He won the Stanley Cup twice and the Art Ross 6 times.

A great career, but I think he dragged it out too long and he should have bowed out with the old guard like Messier etc.

Agreed. I always had animosity for my cross-state rivals, but I still respected and enjoyed watching LeMieux play. If the Flyers were beating the Penguins and Mario scored a goal, I'd almost cheer for it... almost. I'm glad I saw him play live when I could.

If this is truely the end, I'm sure his number will be retired sometime soon and he's a shoe-in for the HoF. It's just sad the way he went out with his health and club issues. Perhaps he can focus his interest elsewhere now... like learning how to pick a suit. Man! Did anyone see him on the national broadcast of the Flyers/Pens game last Saturday? That was an U-G-L-Y Ugly suit.

Well, I don't like to pick holes, philleguy, but he is already in the Hall of Fame and wasn't his jersey number retired during his first retirement?

Maybe we should introduce him to Don Cherry's tailor?

You got me there, I see you've played knifey-spooney before.
But yeah, you're right. That piece of information seemed to had eluded me, especially because they waved the mandatory 3 year waiting period with him. Then again with athletes and their retiring, then non retiring, and retiring again one could get confused.

rargh, the Vishnevksi hit didn't make it onto the Power Aids plays of the week, but the regher hit did. It wasn't really a great hit, he just caught him near the boards and got a lot of force on his upper body, which made him somersault.

Then again, the most impressive part about the vishnevksi hit was the force of the player hitting the ice. When they showed the replay on the jumbotron the entire audience gave a collective "oooohh" You could hear the shock in their voice.

Also, iggy didn't really turn up the heat last season until the second half, so this isn't too much of a surprise.

Easily done. I only picked it up by watching the press conference live (i got bored and went away for food) and then the edited highlights after I broke the news to the club.

Last night came up with some great hockey. Colorado extinguished the Flames last night, by dumping an Avalanche of goals into their net. 7-4 was the final. Joe Sakic had 2 goals, to eclipse Guy Lafleur for 18th on the all time goal scoring list.

I picked up more than 30 points in the NGHL and solidified 8th place. I'm aiming for seventh, but who knows if I can get there.

The goalie fight made sportscenter. It was kinda lame, but still amusing.

After returning to his playoff form thehttp://www.newground..t04/head_message.
gif

http://www.newground..4/head_message.gifse
past few weeks J.S. Jiguere imploded in the Ducks 6-3 loss to Emondton.
And what a time to do it, the ducks are trailing the oilers by 4 points for the last playoff spot.

Well, it's 6 points now.
Here's a pic of some of what went on:
http://sports.yahoo...y_ana105&prov=ap

In the NGHL I have closed the gap on 10th and I'm just a few points away from tying. Gooch had a 9.5 point outburst from Recchi to stay on my heels.

I have no idea whatsoever what that's about.

Anyway, Anaheim goalie Bryzcalov deftly stepped in for Jiggy tonight, and he handed the sharks a shutout in a 2-0 loss.

Andy McDonald broke out of a scoring slump to net the game winner and Selanne moved two points closer to the big 1,000.

Also, dallas remained perfect in shootouts, defeating the red hot avs 3-2 .
Jussi Jokinen for dallas has used the same move all 7 attempts and has scored 7 SO goals.

It looks like Columbus is finally turning things around, or so the local radio stations would have me believe; I heard that they won 6 of their last 7 games, but their Stanley Cup prospects this season are shot unless they can win the vast majority of their 32 remaining games.

I think that the Blue Jackets should concentrate on improving ready for next season, maybe trading for some draft picks.

Yeah, Columbus look like it can go far, it'll just have to wait a few more years before that can happen.

And how about Sillinger on the Blues? He's a goal scoring machine right now. Probably showing off his talents so he can be shipped out come trade deadline.

Fuck. I just wasted $11 for flames PPV yesterday. The Flames vs. Blackhawks game was so boring and sloppy it's was digusting.

O'well still first in the NW my team is...

My NGHL team is terrible. I went from being a contender at the beggining of the season to being in 9th place. I benched two players that had 5 point nights!!!!!!!

Thats 8th place right there! MOTHER FUCKER.

Good game today in Dallas. Lehtinen sent it to OT. Turco did a great job to send it to a shootout. Where they originaly gave Dallas the win, but then they said Turco threw his stick as he was trying to save it. So they let the shootout continue where Turco made a great save and the Stars ended up winning it.

Today is going well so far for me.

Nittymaki got lit up by tampa bay, hopefully opening the window for Esche.
The rangers crushed the pens.
And the Ducks are up 6-1 on the kings.
\
How about that Jokinen on the Stars? Still perfect in shootouts. You'd think he'd miss a hit a post or miss the net in all those tries.

Turco amazed me in that game. He stopped the team with the best powerplay line in the NHL, and saved me in Fantasy this week.

He's truely the hero of that game in my book.

He is amazing, that goal today was sweet. And that nice pass to Lehtinen to tie up the game was also good. He has a lot of potential.

Anyway onto my favourite teams:

From the west: (only one favourite team)

So I suppose to start it off... what do you guys think of Don Cherry?

Cherry is my favorite Racist,
