yes.... post your Hockey related thoughts here.

anyways my hockey related though... They should put Cujo for game 6..... He certainly wants to win. He played well. The D playing more coherently, instead of skating around like a bunch of drunk-stoned idiots, certainly helped Cujo. They were making more stomach dives.... and other wild defensive moves. Maybe that's what is needed, when Kippy is in, the stakes around like blind stoners. When the Cujo is in net, the D plays more seriously. Kippy isn't the problem. our D and Juice are the reason... oh Juice = Husselius, because the Calgary Fans think he resembles Beetle Juice. Pale complexion, dark socket eyes, zombie like playing...

THERE WILL BE GAME SIX RAGHGHGHG. Rad. I can't believe the bullshit turco gets away with. In game five he:

Blatantly Dove
Initiated contact with a forechecker, drew a call against the ducks
Shoved his own net off it's moorings during a duck attack
sprinted out of the net and body checked selanne - no call.

The refs must think he's cute or something.

And to cover a few other things being discussed:

Cheechoo is a third line forward, at the absolute best. Joe Thornton makes his teammates rich, he proved in boston (Bill Guerin, anyone?) and he proved it with cheechoo.

And, secondly: Starting cujo would be absolutely retarded.

yea starting cujo would be retarded. But it would quickly end the Flames prolonged misery all season, with ups and downs. and childish bickering back and forth with the players. And who knows.. Maybe Cujo might have a lucky night again lol. because Kipper certainly can't save anything.

I totally agree, I seen that and was ticked off. There needs to be something done about goalies going straight for the player and not the puck. This year it seems really rampant. I want the Stars to win cuz they are easier to pick off IMO, but that was totally uncalled for, really sick of seeing that. Just put salt in the would when not only did he get away with it, one of his teammates dives and actually stops the puck from going in, woulda been sweet if that completely blew up on him.

Yeah, the stars have pretty conclusively proven that they can beat the ducks - why put in those childish antics?

ah well. game six in big D - where dallas is only 1-7 over their last 8 playoff tilts.

Boston-Montreal tonight on VS, I might actually watch it.

Also, & I don't know if this is true or not, but apparently Ray Emery won't be back in Ottawa next season. I just wonder what team is gonna take him up based on potential & not his off-the-ice record? I would think potential suitors (in theory) would be like...LA, Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, and/or maybe Buffalo, depending on how the whole Ryan Miller deal pans out.

Ugh. no. Pitt will have Fleury resigned, and will need to save the cap space for when staal and malkin hit RFA. LA has 4 goalies under contract already, Edmonton has two tenders under contract, Detroit's got Osgood's contract and they'll probably try and break in howard.

as for the rest, mebbe.

Howard sucks, Fleury isn't proven enough so I don't think it's a guarantee that the Pens will give him anything long-term like Malkin/Crosby/Whitney/etc.; Rollie is off the books for Edmonton after next year, as is Garon, and I'm going to go ahead and assume that Rollie will either be traded/released in the offseason or during the year; Cloutier isn't going to do shit and I wouldn't be surprised if they released him and took the cap hit for this coming season, Ersberg is an RFA, LaBarbera only makes $850,000 and is more likely the backup if they re-sign Ersberg, Jonny Quick isn't all that good and is probably a 3rd-string/backup for next year and the year after, and Jonathon Bernier isn't nearly ready to man the pipes on a regular basis for LA just yet, imo. Detroit has Osgood under contract, yes, so that'd make him the likely de facto starter being that the odds of Hasek being re-signed are fairly slim. However, he's 34 years old and has three years left on his contract; you'd assume they'd have to look to the future somewhat. Jimmy Howard is an RFA this offseason to begin with, and he's also 32 years old and hasn't ever been more than a spot starter; I'd have to doubt that Detroit would want to have him in goal or as a backup long-term, given his age and inexperience.

& I like how you pan me for Detroit & Edmonton when Chicago is in a similar situation with Khabby/Lalime/Crawford...

Gentleman, playoff hockey is my favorite part of the NHL season. Tonight's game between Montreal and Boston just proved it. I'm really rooting for Boston this series. How they were able to keep their composure after the so called #1 seed kept scoring is beyond me. Teams play with their hearts in these games. I am LOVING Jose Theodore's return to the form he was back in Montreal. As for Nashville, they will never win with Dan Ellis, but I can see them pulling an upset on the Red Wings (as that usually happens to the Red Wings every year, anyway). The Pittsburgh series played out exactly as I expected. The Sens can't win with Emery on the bench or on the ice. It affected Gerber when Emery was on the bench because Emery doesn't know how to be a supporting goaltender (then again, neither does Gerber.) The Flyers will take the next game. Biron can't lose his first series. That would be so disappointing. Rangers.. expected. San Jose... I'm hoping they are just having trouble with Calgary. Calgary's a tough team to get by, though. As for the Ducks/Stars.... basically hoping the Ducks can at least fight their way to the second round.

I think...I hate... dick.

I'd certainly add Tampa Bay to that list, plus possibly St Louis as well.

Colorado gave me another point in the "Pick 'em all" stakes this year. According to my records, I'm 3 from 3, with 2 more points available tonight, if Dallas and San Jose win. Of course, the perfect record could go if the Wings beat the Preds as well, but it's hard to get excited about that :P

A well rounded team effort gave the Avalanche the series win last night - another stellar performance from Jose Theodore in net, coupled with some great veteran hockey from Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg ground out a 2-1 victory and a 4-2 series win.

If all the remaining series play out as it looks at the moment, we've got ourselves a brutal encounter with the wings as our next stop. That will be worth watching - I hope the Wings fans bring along some squid!

Fleury isn't proven enough so I don't think it's a guarantee that the Pens will give him anything long-term like Malkin/Crosby/Whitney/etc.;

He's also 23 with a 40 win season under his belt. he'll get a large enough contract to make trading for a backup with a history of work problems and an elephantine contract retarded.

Rollie is off the books for Edmonton after next year, as is Garon, and I'm going to go ahead and assume that Rollie will either be traded/released in the offseason or during the year;

Even so, if Garon is clearly your guy why take on a contract and lockerroom cancer?

Cloutier isn't going to do shit and I wouldn't be surprised if they released him and took the cap hit for this coming season, Ersberg is an RFA, LaBarbera only makes $850,000 and is more likely the backup if they re-sign Ersberg, Jonny Quick isn't all that good and is probably a 3rd-string/backup for next year and the year after, and Jonathon Bernier isn't nearly ready to man the pipes on a regular basis for LA just yet, imo.

The Kings like Labarbs, he and Ersberg will get the job(s). Why trade for emery and have another large goaltender contract rotting in the minors

Detroit has Osgood under contract, yes, so that'd make him the likely de facto starter being that the odds of Hasek being re-signed are fairly slim. I'm not sure where you got his age, since he's actually 24, and the organization has had a man crush on him from the day they drafted him. He's been touted as the goalie of the future for a long time, chances are he won't get buried behind Emery.

& I like how you pan me for Detroit & Edmonton when Chicago is in a similar situation with Khabby/Lalime/Crawford...

I just didn't comment on it. Bulin stays in, Crawford probably gets a look at backup.

Depending on if Dan Ellis walks, nashville could be interested.

If his role's reduced to a backup, isles should sign him. I mean really, it's not like Rick Deep ever plays a full season anyway. olol.

Well, I thought that Smith was going to get a crack at being the number 1 goalie since being brought across and that was where they had suffered pretty much all year. Giving up Richards for Jokinen and Halpern doesn't seem fair, but if you factor in that Smith has #1 Goalie potential, you'd think they would at least have given him a crack.

St. Louis has Legace and they want Hannu to be their goalie of the future, no?

That depends on whether or not they want to improve their staff. Legace is a workhorse and will take everything a team can throw at him, while Toivonen is inexperienced and could learn a lot from him, I think they might be willing to take a gamble here.

We've gone through the dregs of the league now, so maybe one of those will land him, otherwise, he might just get scratched in order to check his attitude. Tanking him down a peg or two might just get him back on track.

Bye Ducks. Who will the Avs play? *Wings or Stars? I think it will be the Wings and I'm not exactly enthralled with the prospect from a Hockey fan's point of view. I am however looking forward to it from a boxing fan's point of view.

*Unless I'm mistaken, the Avalanche as 6th seeds will face the Red Wings if the Sharks win, leaving the Sharks and Starts to fight the other side of the coin. If the Flames win, they get to face the Wings, leaving us with the Stars to face.

Eyes on the East tonight, with Montreal and Boston going to game 7 tonight and Washington playing for their playoff lives against the Flyers again. Sounds like a couple of good games tonight.

If the Habs lose tonight, I can't even imagine the backlash.

Interesting that the last time these two teams met:

Montreal was down 3-1 in the series
Montreal won the next game 5-1
Montreal came back to win the series
Montreal was coached by Claude Julien

and now..

Boston was down 3-1 in the series
Boston won the next game 5-1
Boston came back to win the series??
