fucking Flames! lost 4 fucking games! Godammit! now I'll never have my revenge. goo much Molson Canadian you stupid Flames? (directed at the players). This is what happens when they put in inexperienced young players!
Flames lol. Yea, they've been ass in the preseson. Miika only stopped 23 of 28 last night.
But, and this can't be stressed enough: preseason.
Two seasons ago the sharks went undefeated in the preseason and were among the worst teams in the league until the joke of a trade that brought in Joe Thornton happened. So, really, not a lot to hang your hat on there.
Just six more days until the regular season starts in London :3

*Packs bags, clutches tickets* I've been booked in for this one for a long time. My girlfriend's going to hate me for it (possibly), but I'll love seeing an actual NHL Game in the UK.

Man, count yourself very lucky. There have been quite a few articles on scalpers selling the tickets for upwards of 700 dollars.
I'm a bit worried about my chnces to see it, since I've skipped to saturday on my center ice package, and it doesn't have the game slotted in, nor does versus, nor does NBC. FSN west is carrying the game, but I live in FSN Bay Area's coverage zone, so i can't watch it there either.
Just three days now. ugnughguhnghh.

I'm in for a lump sum of somewhere around £300 (about US$600) that included travel, hotel stay and breakfast the following morning. The only problem is that there's no Avs playing :( I'd have gladly paid well over the odds for that :P
The Avs game is coming up on Wednesday, hopefully they'll actually win their season opener for once/

You and me both, but we've got a stronger team this year than we've had for a while. The main problem is that we're facing one of the perrenial powerhouses in the West. I'd have been slightly more disgruntled if we were facing the Wings, but that's because I wouldn't expect such a spectacle of the big rivalry on opening day.
Opening night for the Isles. I'm looking forward to it despite the fact that Buffalo is 7-1 in their last eight games against the Isles including 4-0 at HSBC, and they've lost their last four season openers. They've won eight all-time in 34 years, to boot.
Radek Martinek re-upped for 3-years with the Isles, and apparently we're close to signing Bryan Berard.

Flames lost to Philadelphia on Thursday 3-2. Daniel Briere scored 2 goals that day. So did Daymond Langkow for Calgary.
The Oilers though, won in a shootout versus San Jose the same day 4-3.

Okay, okay.
Who's the joker that signed Kevin Lowe to a 4-year extension?

O RLY? Fucking owned the stars.
Wings games seem to lack the same intensity that they used to have. Most of the players that started the rivalry have benn traded or retired. It used to be the biggest rivalry in the league, but now it's been reduced to just one of many.
Also, Paul Stastny WOOT!

4-3 isn't owned. 4-0 is a resounding yes, but a 1-goal game, no.

I'm so glad he's on my fantasy team. *gets nosebleed from being so high, falls*

Yep, three flukey goals and we go home with 2 points (And I take a butt-load for my fantasy standings :)

I considered it ownage. It's just that, like always, we got lazy in the third.

I have hime too, but sadly he's about the only good player I have. Damn autodraft.
I seriously think the Avs could win the cup this year, especially considering the way the Ducks have been playing.

Way too early to say - try assessing the players and teams at the All-Star break, as some are sprint starters that tire, or get injured after the first month or two, whereas you might get some rookies that come alive or break out by then, or just after.

I'll be sure to keep this quote in mind come April 6th. You're freaking 2-1, let's not jump to conclusions.
Also, Bryan Berard returns to the Isles for one year @ $725,000.
Berard, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 1995, spent parts of three seasons with the Islanders. He played the past two seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets under coach Gerard Gallant, who is now an assistant on Nolan's staff. Berard, a native of Woonsocket, R.I., made it back to the NHL after sustaining a severe eye injury in 2000 while playing with Toronto that was thought to be career-ending.
He also tested positive for steroids in 2005 after he was listed on a U.S. Olympic hockey preliminary roster. Berard was banned from international competition for two years because of the failed test administered by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
He wasn't suspended by the NHL because the failed test wasn't a part of the league's drug program.

He's certainly had a colourful career, considering the awful injury, which he has overcome. I'm never a fan of steroid use (how can anyone be?), but he's always a handy presence to ahve on the blue line - he's got a head for hockey and he's going to produce a bit of offense for the Isles. Granted, it's not what he's been signed for, but any team will take some offensive contribution

I don't know, it's just a feeling I had. Just like how I had a feeling that the Ducks might win the cup last year, I have a feeling the Avs have a chance. I'm not saying that it's definite or anything, but they seem to have a much stronger team than they've had for years.

And offensive contribution is what he gave tonight.
GWG against the Rangers. I believe you've just been BERAR'D.

THREE fucking games in a Row. Fuck you Calgary Flames. But since I've made peace with Edmonton, the need for revenge is gone..... So I don't really care. All I care about is Panago pizza, Futurama movie, and A Firefly mini series, and Indyanna Jones 4, Then I can die as a happy old man latter in life. Honestly I though Kippersof was the Great Firewall of China, but he sucks ga ga now.

So I noticed - I was kind of gutted that I didn't pick him up for my fantasy team now :P
Berard rules.
His vision in the one eye is only 20/400, whivh is why he's ridiculously bad at playing actual defense.
If they use him in a limited role, like how chicago utilized jeff hamilton last year, it'll be a deec pickup.
Also coop: you shouldn't have dropped weber.

Yeah, his injury was similar to the one that happened with Juan Encarnacion this year, and Juan is only at 20/400 now. Granted, baseball and hockey are different, but both require good eyesight. It's crazy how Berard can even play at this point, tbh.

They want him to captain the power play.

word. How did i get out-requested for him if i'm 13th on the WW and the MakeMeLaughs are 14th?

Believe it or not, I'm still smarting from Keeping Nick Johnson in my fantasy team all season and watching him not recover from his broken leg.
I think it may come around to bite me in the arse, but at least I'm not going to be that silly with someone like Stastny :P
Speaking of Colorado, how about that Sakic? Rhetorical question, but he too gets a hat trick for his team against Columbus.
And the Flames win against Nashville on the road (???) 7-4. Unbelievable.

Just a question that has always plagued my mind, why is it 80% of Hockey players last names you can't pronounce or spell if asked to.
Makes me wonder if this Asdfghfds everyone talks about is a hockey player.
