My comments might be somewhat anachronistic since I read over 20 pages of this thread today, but I had a couple questions. I think I read that Picos Quest had medals with points, but they don't appear on the game page. Is that bug still going on or are there not medals for this?
I didn't read anything on this, or at least I don't remember o.O
Other than asking people for this info, the next best way to find the answer to this question is to look up the medal pages of the top 5 users and look up the medals for the game you have inquiries for (I'm a rather poor choice though, since I almost never play non-point medal games in their entirety).
Also, have the Crazy Over Goo medals been fixed yet? I enjoyed the game regardless, but it would be nice to be able to get them.
I wasn't one of the users that was affected by this, so I can't say whether it's been fixed or not. Perhaps an ad hoc solution you could use is to play on public computers and see if it works on any of those machines. As with all public outlets, they might be infected, so it's up to you if you want to risk your NG info or not.
Also a random comment and question. I wish I was skilled enough to be able to make a walkthrough that would actually help people like a lot of others have. There are probably only a couple games that I'm exceptionally good at. But meh. But on that topic, what do you guys use to record videos? I think that would be a good thing to have just in case.
HyperCam 2. Apparently there are watermarked free versions, and the totally free versions with no handicaps attached. You'll want to be aware of that.
There are a couple issues with screencapture software for the desktop. First, what you're trying to record may not record smoothly. In experience, I can record League of Legends at 30 fps almost all the time (with Fraps), but some "intense" flash games can only be recorded at 10 fps for some reason. Second, sound may prove difficult to get. The normal way of getting this is either with the What U Hear or stereo mix audio device (it may be disabled and hidden). But if you don't have either, the next best thing you can do is either camp a mic in front of your speakers, which destroys the sound quality obviously, or you get a loopback adapter, which will consume your sound output and mic input, but is guaranteed to get you the audio.
An alternative is Fraps, which will get you uncompressed video files (read: LARGE!!!) and sound, while being less intensive on your computer, but this will only work if the flash you're working with can be viewed in full screen like the youtube videos.
Video editing software is a whole different beast. The good ones are really expensive, ugh >.<
I think that's all I wanted to say. And of course, thank you all for all the help you provide in this topic, with both tracking new games and giving tips.
Heh. I was going to do a guide for Spike - A Love Story, but for some reason I'm much better at the game on my crappy lappy than on my newer desktop. So I can't get the material I want for the survival challenge =( I'm wondering if I should just go with what I've got atm....
