I am probably going to start doing this too. I can't even play normal songs anymore due to the lag. I miss half the notes on normal anymore. I can play half a song without lag if I restart my computer.

Well, at least the author is working on fixing it and has put notes to combat some of the lag in the file's description.

Change the keys and use two hands. If you're struggling, run through the song doing nothing but LOOKING at the notes and LISTENING to the song. The rhythms are all rather simple. Geez, it's really not hard.

I distinctly remember one song where there were notes coming from four or more different directions at the same time, each column coming at a different speed and pattern...now, excuse me, but you got to have superhuman reflexes and finger speed to actually do that...unless of course, there's an easier way to do it that I'm not aware of...

Ya fuck that game.. I'm not too sure how I feel about it, granted I've only played it once so far I'm not sure I like the 6 button layout with 2 rows and 3 columns.. especially how it gets thrown off by having the actual visual aspect being in a circle. But oh well, maybe I'll play it again maybe not. It's ok, but I don't feel like playing a Guitar Hero-esque game all the way through on the hardest difficulties and whatnot to get all the medals.. That's like trying to get all the medals for Guitar Hero on like a 360.. which is a real game and long and hard as fuck, not to mention repetitive..

If it helps, the max number of simultaneous notes per "beat" is actually only 2. Everything else follows the rhythm of that instrument, which was why I suggested the "look and listen" approach. Perhaps you could try using a screen recorder and playing it back at 0.5x speed to learn it o.0

Also, I don't have any screen recording software, and FRAPS won't record anything but games (real ones).

Windows XP users can set the PC Theme to Windows Classic. It will look like Windows 98: grey Taskbars and blue desktop image. Closing any other program also helps, like iTunes, AIM and MSN. This really helps with the lag, A LOT. I don't know if Windows Vista/7 have this option, but it really should help XP users.

For Vista, under the "personalize" options, you can turn all the visual gimmicks off. These are stuff like little animations when you close a folder. It might help somewhat.

With regards to punk-o-matic 2, (At least for me) when flash lags, the visual cues will desync a little and correct itself after the lag spike is over, but the game still recognizes "correct" keystrokes in accordance to the music. So just go with the music. This might help.

Hey, is anybody else having problems with the hundred note streak medal in Punk-O-Matic 2? I've done it about 5 times now, and even the in-game achievements aren't logging it. Just to make sure I'm not being an idiot, a streak IS when you hit a certain amount of notes in a row... right?

A few people complained that it wasn't logging properly, although I haven't seen it myself. The medals registered for me the first time. I'd give it a few more tries. Maybe try Pop-Up mode or something. And yes, that is what a streak is. Make sure you're performing a show, and not just in practice or learning a cover.
