Congrats on 1800 responses there.
That's almost as many responses as I have reviews!
As for me, I've finally had the time to write a review again, and I've just wrote a 6015 character review for Drakojan Skies Mission 3.
I spent 5 hours editing it, but could only get it down to 5500 characters, but then after a conversation with Xiivi overAIM I discovered I was allowed to post the full review using two seperate NG accounts, something I'll have to remember from now on.
If I'd had known this before I'd have used 3 accounts to get a whole review done once XD
Anyway, read the review here, it starts with the Afro_Stud review and then Afro_Strawberry's review.

Yeah I´ll remember that as well, in case I ever write a review with that length. Don´t think it will ever happen though =) I already have trouble writing 2500 characters.
Anyway, read the review here, it starts with the Afro_Stud review and then Afro_Strawberry's review.
You only gave it a 6? Meh... the game was at least worth a 9 in my opinion.
Anyway, 2 reviews written, 1 nice respond received.

Yar, but if I hadn't done that:

The way I did it was better and seemingly Denvish has had to do it before, so 'meh'.

It may happen to you at some point, you write loooong reviews, I can almost guarantee that by the time you reach 1000 reviews it will have happened to you at least once.
You only gave it a 6? Meh... the game was at least worth a 9 in my opinion.
In terms of gameplay it was worth an 8, in my opinion, I gave it a lower score because I felt that the ending let it down to much as it just suddenly ended before you'd got anywhere. There was the little introduction that was setting up a little story at the start, but nothing really happened dealing with the story which let it down.
Also for my overall score I give the average of all the other scores for which the submission qualifies for. When it comes to vehicle violence, I always give a low vioelnce score, the 2 I gave it for violence dragged it's overall score down.

Getting close to 100 there. Good luck!
I'm still on a measly 71.
I wonder what will happen first, you making it on to your Top 100 Reviewers List, or me making it on to my Top 100 Responses List?
My money's on you.

Well I can agree with this. Kinda of a shame that the author doesn't want to make a 4th and 5th part. The story of the game is far from over. I wouldn't give the game 2 points lower cause of the story though. Maybe 1, but not more then that.

Meh..I usually don't give the average for the overall. I always give 0's for when a movie doesn't have any humor or violence at all, or wasn't meant for that. I also never give a movie higher then 5 for interactivity. All this would lower the overall score a lot, which wouldn't really be fair in my opinion.
Getting close to 100 there. Good luck!
Thanks. Only 23 more to go then till the response list =). I could've been on it already if I would really try, but I don't feel like trying (yet).

That wouldn't be that bad if you had 1700 reviews less.

I dunno. I still have 300 reviews to go then until I would get there and it will probably be even more. I calculated, if I kept on going like this, I would hit 600 reviews in about a year. Because the requirements will be a lot higher then (also cause of new people on it), I would be on my list by Februari 2007 probably. Of course things will go different if I would suddenly get into a reviewing mood and write 100 in a month.
You would only need about 50 replies, which is a lot easier to get. You could get them any moment actually. Most likely wouldn't happen, but it's possible. And well, if you just reviewed some more recent submission and some of the responding authors, it shouldn't take too long for you to get there. So I think you would be on your list first.

He's not continuing! :O
Hmm, I'd have expected him to have actually continued on with it until it was complete, I guess he's changed over the years then.

Well, I did drop the score of the game by one.
Gameplay deserved an 8/10, structure of how much I enjoyed the game as a whole got a 7/10, the simplicity of it lowered it's score by one here to give it a 7/10, then the disappointment of the sudden ending gave it a 6/10.
Thanks. Only 23 more to go then till the response list =). I could've been on it already if I would really try, but I don't feel like trying (yet).
I could be on it too if I wanted to, but I'll just continue to review the stuff I want to that won't gain a response.
That wouldn't be that bad if you had 1700 reviews less.
Anything below 10% is a really poor response rate.

Heh, time for some calculations.
For me
I gain one response for every 33 reviews.
I currently review about 1 submission a week.
I need 54 responses to make my list.
If I gain 1 response every 33 weeks, it would take me 1782 weeks to have 124 responses.
Of course by then the requirements will have dramatically gone up.
So lets say 2000 weeks for me to make it on to my list
That's about 38 and a half years.
For you:
You currently review about 2 submissions a week
You need 300 reviews to make the list
If you write 2 reviews every week, it will take you 150 weeks to have 611 reviews.
Of course by then the requirements will have gone up.
So lets say 200 weeks for you to make it on to your list.
That's about 4 years
Result
You make it onto your list 34 and a half years before I make it onto mine.

Well it´s your decision. If you feel like you should retire or if you want to, then do that. I don´t like seeing KWAS as the new number one reviewer though and I´m probably not the only one here. Anyway, if you decide to retire, then you should stop at a nice amount like 13337 or 15000.
At 12/9/05 09:17 AM, XwaynecoltX wrote: Who says i should retire from reviewing and let there be a new board leader?
Well, usually, I would let you decide, but this time I must say no. KWAS is the only one who has a real chance to catch your place as the top reviewer and no-one wants this spammer. So, please don't stop.
OH i dont plan to and it would look odd with kwass up there though i was just seeing what people thought...

At 12/9/05 09:17 AM, XwaynecoltX wrote: Who says i should retire from reviewing and let there be a new board leader?
Since KWAS is the only one that could overtake you soon, I'd say no, don't retire. KWAS is a bad reviewer and I'd hate him to be #1 for reviewing. I'm sure lots of people would hate him to be 1st for reviewing. I don't think he deserves the 1st place. Infact, I don't think he deserves a place in the top 100 reviewers at all, but since he is, there's nothing we can do other than pointing out very abusive reviews he made (I remember him making a review saying the flash was stolen and another breaking the "BLAM THIS" rule).
At 12/9/05 09:17 AM, XwaynecoltX wrote: Who says i should retire from reviewing and let there be a new board leader?

Well, let's look at the Top 10:
There's you, the good reviewer who wants to retire. Than there's KWAS, who I would not want to run this club. MI4_REAL is rarely seen anymore, as is Voink or most of the other top 10. It'd be hard to find a replacement for you, as the guy would have to have quite a bit of reviews, and good ones, to gain the respect you need to be leader.
I'd like to see you stay, at least until we see a real breakout guy (or we could use Afro_Stud as leader)
Ah, finally; I have finally captured the skill to review. If you look at the past few reviews, i've been getting into more depth other then just a few notes. It's really acheiving writing it, but a shame as the authors only really seem to respond to the short ones. :(
At 12/9/05 03:44 PM, wizardman wrote: or we could use Afro_Stud as leader
We could, but he hardly reviews now. Another good reviewer was Marcus and he's stopped reviewing. I'm sure he could've been a good #1 reviewer. His reviews were good, but I think it's a shame he doesn't review anymore. I think he got annoyed at the reviews he kept losing due to flash deletions.
At 12/10/05 04:57 AM, Bahamut7 wrote: Marcus
Well, I forgot about RyanAn, so it's only him who's closest to ~X~ and would deserve a top reviewer rank. I think he's still a little active with reviewing, but not as active as ~X~ or KWAS. Anyway...

Well, I managed to make two reviews today, which I am quite happy with it. Yeah, I'm on lazy mode for reviewing at the moment, but at least I made at least one review today.
OK its time my 3 day review vacation was over, and ill start up on some today, besides it helps me to restore some of my review pics folders...

I have had my reasons recently for my lack of reviewing this last month or so, but I shan't go into it, it's somewhat personal.
I should be back to reviewing soon, I may write a few reviews tomorrow, things seem to be getting fine again.
I just hope all is well tomorrow, Thursday was fine and I wrote a review then, as was Friday but I was busy sorting out way too much stuff outside of NG, today's been a bit iffy again(also I've been away most of the day so...), but tomorrow and then on, yes, all shall be fine :) *fingers crossed*
Of course I shan't be reviewing on any Monday's since I'm busy with my list update, trust me, that takes a loooooooooong time.

I know how long a list like that could take. I once tried to make a B/P list, but failed since I thought it was too much for me. Yeah, I did get lazy.

Really? Well updating my list takes only about an hour (depends a bit on the amount of changes of course). Your's probably takes a bit longer, cause you would have to search through some more stuff, but I can't imagine it takes all day. Are you using a HTML-File? That would save a lot of time, cause you could make direct links to their response page there and you could copy and paste everything you typed in notepad when your done.

At least you're sure all the ranks are right in a B/P list. We have to move people up and down all the time when we find someone with more reviews.

Of course. All of that stuff to make a stat list accurate. It makes me wonder how you people manage to handle making them and updating them every week. Maybe an easy way like Excel or something will make the job easier. Anyway...

Aye, it does take a bit longer, since I have to get everyone's number of responses and reviews.
but I can't imagine it takes all day.
It doesn't take all day, it takes me about 3-5 hours roughly, depends on how much has to be done, since sometimes there's a lot, other times there's not as much.
Are you using a HTML-File? That would save a lot of time, cause you could make direct links to their response page there and you could copy and paste everything you typed in notepad when your done.
No I use a spreadsheet, copy the links then paste them in a search bar, hmm, that would save some time though, I may do that :)
What's your full method for getting everything postable?
I change all the numbers in a notepad dcoument, is there a quicker, more reliable method?

But you cannae copy all the data from that and make it postable, too many spaces, you end up having to delete them all, which takes longer, unless of course there's some quicker way which I'm missing >_<

Damn, you're not too far off a 50% response rate(not that I didn't know that already)
One review made and two new responses. I think that isn't bad. At least I'm doing something with reviewing.
Heh I reviewed too today, again I went over the limit, this time by only 1000 characters though, I had to post the second half by using Afro_Strawberry again.
I was planning on reviewing the whole series, but I'm going to have to call it a day now, well with reviewing, I'm too tired, I can't think straight at all, hopefully I'll be able to review them on Tuesday or something,or Monday if I have the time.
Anyway here's a question for Auz, if I ended up writing so many reviews that went over the limit and Afro_Strawberry ended up getting more reviews than the person ranked 100th in The Top 100 Reviewers List(not that it's ever going to happen, but still).
Would he get included in the list? Or would he be excluded since it's just an alt posting the 2nd half of reviews by someone else?

When I make it in notepad, it looks like this (change all [ ] into < >):
1) 13337 +456 [a href=link to profile] XwaynecoltX [/a][br]
2) 12409 +123 [a href=link to profile] KWAS [/a][br]
Save it as responseslist.html for example. Then open that file and you should get a list with clickable links to profiles in it. You can open the notepad file again by pressing the right mouse button and then press "give source". I dunno how to exactly translate that, but I hope you know what I mean.
The [br] is just there so that there's one person in every row (just to make it look nice for me and it's easier to search through stuff that way). You don't have to add that if you don't want to. Anyway, when I'm done, I just copy and paste everything. Then I remove all the [br]'s behind everybody's name and post it. You don't have to add any extra enters, the BBS automaticly makes sure there's one person in every line (as long as you have added enters in the notepad version and the lines are not too long).
Anyway here's a question for Auz, if I ended up writing so many reviews that went over the limit and Afro_Strawberry ended up getting more reviews than the person ranked 100th in The Top 100 Reviewers List(not that it's ever going to happen, but still).

Well I thought JamieMcGuire was an alt of swive and I've included both in the top 150, so I would do the same if Afro_Strawberry would have more then the 100th person on the list.

LMAO awesome, now onto those 600 reviews over 4,096 characters... ;P
I was hopign to hit 400 reviews and 50 responses at the same time. well, with Guardian's quitting, Bezman's sudden disappearance and some other inactivity, that ended up not working out.
I have a better idea. I'm going to review movies for a sake of getting the random anniversary taglines for when flashes get noticed there. (Under games + Series, abotu halfway down. You guys probabyl knew that though) It hasn't worked yet, but I'll keep trying. I should ask Waynecolt how he gets ones ont here almost daily.
