Reviews for "The Pick of Destiny"

No rhythm

It threw me off with that fact that the rhythm of the music didn't sync up correctly with the rhythm of the arrows. I'd hit the correct key in time with the rhythm and it would be just off enough to be too early or late... was too difficult to get the feel of the game taking that into account. otherwise.. it was alright.

LilDwarf responds:

Why is it that some say it's perfectly synced and others say it isn't? It just proves that you are unable to follow the beat correctly and you blame the game and not yourself who you should really blame.

LOL

LOL this game was ok, but the instructions are wrong, the right arrrow goes up but you say to push the left one....thats what i was loling about

LilDwarf responds:

Yes...I know ¬_¬

OK, but doesn't compare with existing games.

Existing games like Flash Flash Revolution are much older, and do it better, sorry to say. They feature a moving, animated background with no lag, and perfect note syncing. However, this is something minor and overlook-able.

The most important part of a rhythm style game is not doing it %100 perfect, but the ability to recover quickly from mistakes and keep it going. Unfortunately, this is where your game fails. The 'stuck in miss' effect ruins what could be a decent attempt at an FFR clone.

I won't call it a bug because as per the author's comments, it's apparently a feature. Well, remove that feature and you've got yourself a much better game.

LilDwarf responds:

Oh well...at least you read the author comments. It's not a feature, but something wierd with the arrows. I don't know how to fix it besides redoing the entire engine or making the arrows more separate, both of which I don't want to do.

This isn't your contest to win

Alright, I played the game up to the Pick of Destiny, then gave up. The arrows and the music are out of sync BIG TIME throughout the whole game, especially in the end. If you wanna win a contest on Newgrounds, try making the children's game.

LilDwarf responds:

Now that you mention it, I might do that children's game :S

wtf

its fukin hard
