Reviews for "The Last Stand."

Great Stuff

Only thing I didn't like was not being able to switch weapons while reloading. And also the point of pressing r to reload when it does it auto matically when the clip runs dry. In metal gear solid when u switched weapons and then you switched back you had a full clip, maybe incorporate that idea into your game. But being able to switch weapons in the middle of a reload would be great.

Love it

It was a bit easy though. Just keep searching for survivors and weapons, repair little, and you'll make it through easily.

WoW. Compleatly Amazeing.

God you have to love this game. Everything about it is top notch.

@ everyone who says there should be more SL you have to click on the Diary in the gun room. There is fresh SL info each day. Its kinda hard to remember though, maybe you should be able to go back over your diary at the end.

Gota say the Barrette Sniper Riffle is top notch. I don’t know if I would have made it through the last night without it.

I have to say I liked the range of zombies you saw in the game, very good. there were at least 7 heads and over 20 bodies that I could identify. The way they died and the range of injuries you could inflict was massive. The zombie dogs were a nice touch.
And the clown. You get a ten on humor just for the clown. In fact I almost want to see a flash movie where you get to see how the clown survived to day 19.

One problem I had with the game was you could fire almost straight up if you had to but not almost straight down. this meant there was a large gap that could not be hit from the 'line position' in the center of the barricades. It even was big enough to fit an entire human zombie. I found this annoying but honestly it was the only flaw in the games design.

I look forward to your further contributions to the portal.

Sincerely ARJ of CJF.

Incredible

Amazing Actionscript god i wish i knew how to do all the techniques you did to accomplish the feat that is this flash game. The different areas of your bullets and what gun you were using corresponded to one another perfectly, not sure what to say except can you give me some pointers on action scripting. 5!

CLOWN ZOMBIES!

I -loved- the clown.

Ok, now on to the review.
This is damn impressive for a first game. The intro / menu screen was professional looking and the weapon sounds were great. The weapon firing animations were good, but some of the zombies were a bit goofy. For instance, the way the soldiers fell was a bit cardboard cut-out like.

Suggestions:
Weapons - what, no home-made flamethrower? Aww :( Seriously, I think some improvised weapons would add realism. Molitov coctails (limited ammo for these!) would be good. Perhaps you could add the risk of damage to the barrier if you used one too close.
If you started out with nothing but a cleaver and a pitchfork, I for one would love it.

Ammunition - Rather than only getting the choice of two weapons for the night, what if you had all the weapons available, but limited ammo for each? It would add another layer of skill to the game. (You might also want to add "search for ammunition" as a daytime task)

Daytime hours - Do they not sleep? You could add fatigue as a factor. The less rest you get, the less accurate you are with weapons.

Survivors - Damn, only one woman? I hope she idolized Smurfette as a child.

Story - This may not be your thing, but I always like the adition of a story, a bit of narration can add to the realism and excitement of a game.

Great job, overall :)
