Amazing game, but...
This is perhaps the best (not to mention most original) flash game I've ever played. Beautiful physics! There is so much freedom with the controls, especially once you get used to them. It took incredibly long to learn everything you can do with webs etc., though.
At first the controls and movement were extremely tedious, but I soon found out how to move quickly.
There were a few really significant problems, though: over and over again, I would get hurt and die for no aparent reason, having to replay certain levels several times. It was way to easy to die, and since movment slow it would get really tedious. Although the physics are the best I have ever seen, they were a little unpredictable--sometimes flinging me into the wall and killing me when I least expected it. The instructions on how to control the tri-achnid were vague and somewhat unhelpful. Also the music was decent, but it got repetitive and honestly didn't quite fit the game (very close though).
Those are the reasons for the "8"; otherwise I would say "10." Also, the 8 is in a whole different league from most other games on Newgrounds. The 8 is in relation to what I believe you could do.
All I can say is imagine if someone made a game like this for Nintendo Wii! It would be perfect with the new wii-mote. This game is truly different and original, and that's why I like it so much.
Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing your future projects.
Walkthrough please
im stuck on the second level can someone make a walkthough for where all the larvas are?
Put your best foot foward, heh, heh
The best part of this game was the music. It seems to set the mood (which is generaly sad) and gives both the mind frame of a spider and tells you where you are. (atop a dusty dry rock) This only applies to the music for the first part, once you changed music on us upon entering the belly of the beast it annoyed me, it had almost a jazz/blues thing in the background that killed the feeling of the situation, which was being inside another creature! and that should've been fricken scary!
I like the realism that the physics engine brought to this game that encouraged me to think like a spider and thus move like one. (I scared my family) The many usages of the webbing not only in offense AND defense combat purposes but also as a mode of transportation will not only bring me back to this game but also adds the next to my "waiting list".
Overall good game, I don't want to give a 10 because of some of the little annoyances that are so small I can't remember them (or fit them in) right now.
This game is definately award-worthy
Great interactivity, easy controls, amazing story. the one thing that i didnt liek too much was the music, it was great but got a bit repetitive. Other than that, this game rocks! I love it when someone makes a great game that isn't just full of guns and gore.
