Reviews for "The Sunscreen Song"

Nice

Wow man that was awesome what is the name of that speech and who made it?

Anyway i have seen all your flashes and they are all awesome man you are like my idol. You have tought me that people my age can make flashes too and you inspired me to try to learn to make flashes.

Awesome.

Ying-yong responds:

It's called, "Everybody's Free ( To wear sunscreen)" by Mary Schmidt.

It's an honor to be called an idol, and to inspire people to make movies, because half the time I was making this, I was aiming for underdog.

I'll be looking for your animations soon. ;)

Please respond! Too true.

You are absolutely right. It's a lesson in plain English, kinda, with pictures.
I loove the pictures.
You're right. Never feel as if you'll always fail, and never feel as if you'll always succeed.
I didn't get the sunscreen part, but the song was good, and it left an imprint on me. I'll think differently about life. Who knows what will happen?
You should be a guidance counselor. Even though some of the stuff was old and easier said than done, you're still right in the long run.
Who knows? Maybe they'll give up the fraud sunscreen pill they have today.
Seriously, they do. You take them and and rub on sunscreen too. What's the point of taking the pill, then?
And the companies said it would make sunscreen easier.
(When I was little I though sun tan lotion and sun screen were different things.)
Please respond, oh guru of knowledge.

Ying-yong responds:

Thanks for the long review. :)

The guru of knowledge isn't me, it's Mary Schmidt, and it's told by Baz Luhrman. Some of the pictures were inspired by FakeShot, but I'm glad you liked the backdrop.

The sunscreen pill is filled with aids. And canser. And testicles. I spray my sunscreen on, and it works just fine. As long as you dont get burnt.

Have a nice day.

Like the song...

Here's what this Flash has going for it: a good song and amusing imagery (such as the inclusion of Foamy and that evil frowny face). However, its weak suit is the scrawliness of the drawings. The lines could do with a global smoothing. Fades are done wrong, so each layer fades out separately. I dislike the mixture of stick men, raster images, and filled figures. The worst visual moment in the Flash is "the race is long" part where the track ascends above the horizon. Overall, a good accompaniment to The Sunscreen Song, with the exception of the awful lipsynching misalignment on "respect your elders."

Ying-yong responds:

Thank you for the helpful review.

I can explain some of the bad drawings....the race is long part was done with finger mouse, and others with just a mouse. That's why some better artists are on front page, they're Wacom-Bound. The lip-syncing misalignment was inevitable because I had to up the sound quality, and the lip synching was skewered.

As for stickmen, google'd images, and filled figures, they were all tests. If you read the author comments, it says why I used them. Not that I like stickmen, but I wanted to see if it worked.

Thanks again for your review. Expect more from me.

Kinda sad...

I did this song for a flash a long time ago... it would have been cool if you had done it really well, but all you did was copy all the crap i did when i submitted. If no one believes me, go watch sunscreen tree, look at all the ideas he has copied, and then look at the date of origin.

sad man...

Ying-yong responds:

The thing that is sad is that you were my inspiration for this whole project. You should feel proud of yourself. I visited that flash ion...70 times watching it, loving it. It's my favorite movie ( I dont know how Teagirl got there) and I voted 5 on it for a long time. That's why it rose from a 2.92 to a 2.98. I checked if anyone else did the same, and no, I was your biggest fan.

I made sure the style stayed close to yours, having enough animation, but no too much to water down the movie. You said all of your ideas were copied. Ball faced exaggeration. There are some 3 or 4 similarities. You may think some things were copied, ( Mom dies, siblings hug) but there are some many things afterward, combined with the thought of yours, I thought you'd be proud, and prayed that you'd make more flash.

But no.

Great Job Buddy !

Wow, this is just awesome !! Hurray for you ! Still in Yansters ??? Anyway, good job Brandon !

Ying-yong responds:

FairPlay, I thought you were busy in college. Yes, I'm still in Yansters, but there isn't too much activity there! Sorry I couldn't talk to you on MSN. Thanks for the review buddy.
