Reviews for "Autumn Tree"

scary to imagine it again

nice work guys...very dramatic and
eerie in presentation; especially with
the eloquent, beautiful music, which
contradicts with the characters motives.
despite how the viewers know the
outcome of this scenario, one cant
help, but to feel some sympathy for
them in some way, before they turned
into monsters that they were. the
visuals were very sharp and clean
and the fbf, presumably by AITD, was
fluid. obivously this will ruffle some
peoples feathers, though the purpose
was to bring up the authors view on the
subject and to share with others. which
is the whole point of art...to be expressive.
score: ****
kudos,
MJ

Really well done and researched

The graphics are good although the music used could have used a little work. It was a fair portrayal of the two shooters although a little brief along towards the ending. Very well researched and put together

A few things should be noted.

I lived in Littleton for most my life. I was just a few blocks away when the shooting began. I did not know the two who had done it, except by reputation from the high school students who had referred to them as "freaks." Columbine is not a question of why. I know why and everyone from that school knew exactly why. What should be asked is how? How is it that those two managed to delude their reality to such a point as to not batter an eye at the bloodshed they caused? As for the factual accuracy, is was close, for the most part. Though the story of the girl who was allegedly asked if she believed in God was no more than news hype created by the local media. The most important issue involving Columbine, in my opinion is the affect it had on the school, much the same way that 9/11 influenced America and the whole world. By the time it was ready for me, the school had drastically changed - armed guards at the doors, camera fixtures down every hall, mounted even in the bathrooms, all for the sake of "security." The lesson to be learned here is that rather than fixing the problem at its source, actually preventing another attack, the school board readied themselves for another. Instead of fixing the problem they created a new one in its place. Columbine was a tragedy, but even tragedies have the potential to teach.

Very well done.

This is kind of a touchy subject but non the less the flash was amazing. I pitty those who've had to suffer because of events such as these. I've known people my self that have lost thier lives due to violence in schools. This flash is very moving so keep making 'em and keep up the great work.

Was very close, but not exact

I enjoyed this flash, but some things came to my mind while watching it.

This has already been said, but it seemed alot like the movie Elephant. It gave the same feel, as well one of the same speeches. Some things were a little exaguratted (my spelling sucks), but it seemed pretty close.

As far as it goes for accuracy to the events of Columbine, you did a pretty good job. I'm glad you used the "Do you believe in god?" speech on the right person. As you probably know, it was supposidly said to 3 students, but witnesses later confirmed it was said only to the one girl. She did not die, unlike the other two. I would've liked a little more in the library scene, since that's where most of the victims died, and maybe a little more in the cafeteria. I also wish this was longer. You had something going for you, but it seemed a little rushed. There were a few other minor differences (like the talk with their friend at the beginning of the movie) but I'm suprised you had the talk with Dylan and his friend with the "Oh, just killing people" statement.

Now, it comes to the overall quality of the movie. It was very well drawn, and I liked the features at the beginning of the movie with the menu and the abilty for people to bone up on Columbine knowledge. I gave you an overall 8 because of your accuracy and the features. I took off two points for the reasons mentioned.

I'm sorry if you take that offensively. Please know that all of this is constructive critisism (I've had people get mad at me before for not telling them their creation is perfect) and not just ripping on it. In fact, if you do decide on making another one, maybe you could incorporate some of these things into it. When it comes to the movie quality, I really have no place to be talking sense I can't make a flash this well myself, but it's just what I thought.

I'm very sorry for the length of the review. I just found this very interesting. I know you were not trying to make an exact replica of Columbine, but I just felt the need to tell you this. Altogether this was a very good movie. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more from you soon.
