Reviews for "Autumn Tree"

"May this world make sense one day"

I watched Elephant and I have to say that I like your version more than the movie. The movie was only telling a story without any feelings in it, it even gloryfied violence a little (that's what I found). As for the "punk and goth freak" thing said by another viewer, I was constantly picked at at school, I listen to Marilyn Manson, I felt depressed but I never killed anybody. I like the fact that you didn't made any jokes with the massacre. Your animation is making me feel really depressed but I don't think that's a good thing to show this stuff on sites such as newgrounds where some idiots might think it's a joke. The animation itself is very good, you are very talented but I don't think that we should talk about what happened in Columbine anymore if it's not going to help the families that lived it. Imagine you're one of those and you watch this movie ... I think we should give respect to these people.

Although...

Although most of the things in your movie, it was extremely inaccurate in where they occured. Almost all of the things in your movie occured in the wrong location of the school. For example they planted a time bomb in their bag, and placed it underneath a table in the school cafeteria, they didn't carry it around with them, unfortunately it didn't go off. This happened before they went around shooting. The teacher you portrayed running for his life was running through the hallways making sure no children were in it and helping them get into classrooms for safety. Nobody was killed in the cafeteria, if you downloaded the security camera movie that was located in the cafeteria, they were trying to shoot at the time bomb they made that didn't go off to make it explode. Most of the killings were done in the hallways and the library. The friend you so innacurately portrayed in the cafeteria, was in the library, and he sure as hell wasn't their best friend or anything, he just knew them he talked to them once or twice maybe. Even in the main characters Eric an Dylan are completely inaccurately portrayed. They didn't call themselves the trenchcoat mafia because they walked around in green clothing. Dylan was the one with blonde hair, Eric with black. I'm still giving you all tens because it is an amazng flash. But it is HIGHLY innacurate.

it was okay

you had lots of facts wrong. like the fact that one didnt have purple streaks. and that it was a neighbor who drove them to school. and carried the weapons it brown paper bags. get yo facts straight. but ok job.

excellent work

this is a topic that still stirs so many emotions in everyone. i remember coming home from school and turning on the television and seeing the live coverage of columbine that day. i lived about 40 miles away from littleton, and it shook my city to the core. it's a very difficult event to cover, especially in this form, and i think you've done an excellent job of showing that these teenagers were not monsters, they were actual human beings, with background stories and lives of their own. they had personalities and hobbies and families, and, while they were obviously severely and tragically misguided, it's wrong to demonize them and define their entire existence by the events of a single day. i think a lot of people viewing this flash find it offensive because they are used to the one-dimensional protraits of eric harris and dylan klebold as murderous villians, and they don't want to admit that there were actual people involved. people with thoughts and feelings, people with goals and futures, people whose lives were destroyed or forever altered by a single unifying tragedy. this was in no way a perfect flash. the voice acting was pretty terrible, the script was dull and sounded extremely scripted, and some of the more important scenes, like the "does god exist" scene, were cut short. but i think the delicate way you've managed to cover such an incredibly touchy topic, the way you showed the raw reality of the event, and showcased not just that those teenagers were capable of monstrous violence and cruelty, but also that they were equally capable of mercy and laughter, deserves far more than appreciation from the newgrounds community. this flash deserves to be shown to audiences everywhere. this is something people everywhere should watch, and hopefully take away a real appreciation for the fragility of humanity and the many faces of evil.

...brings back memories

i was actually there that day in april...i was in science and i was waiting for calss to end casue my teacher kept talking and then we heard the shots. I first thought it was like a glass breaking in one of our many display cases. but then we heard more and more and we saw them your flash dosnt realyl show what we went through as students. it was horrific but i just dont like them being imortilized in retrospect to their crimes...they killed two close friends of mine Cassie Bernall and Daniel R. {forgot how to spell his last name sorry} but other than that it was good and a bit sad infact it made me cry becasue of the memories it brought back. if at all please respond to me {sparda8814@comcast.net} thanks .
