I have a couple of things to say. First of all, for all of you people who are giving this flash bad reviews because you don't agree with the "opinion of the flash artists", you are morons. NO where in this flash do the artists give their opinions. They are simply depicting what happened at Columbine and the GUNMENS' reasons for doing it. The authors are not saying they think the gunmen were wrong or right, they are simply telling what happend. This is why they included the thing about God. It is what happened, it is not what the authors BELIEVED happened, it is a fact.
To the artists: The only place I think you went wrong was showing the actual shooting. It was a 10 until that point. This is because it is disrespectful to the true victums of this incicdent (the students who these kids shot). You should have just ended it after the letter or skipped the actual shooting and showed some of the aftermath. Other then that, it was one of the best flashes I have seen in a while. I think you should add something about how this in no way depicts your opinion, because that seems to be the reason for the low scores. People don't seem to understand that.
Wikipedia was your source, huh?
When I first saw this on newgrounds' front page, I was interested in what you were going to make a point about the shootings. Unfortunately, you disappointed me greatly with the inaccuracies of this animation. During your credits, I found out why this is so far off of the truth.
I like Wikipedia. I really do. But when you depend on it for the main source before you go off and make an animation that, so far almost 50,000 people are going to watch, I get a little upset. If you actually care about learning anything about Columbine, I suggest you read 'No Easy Answers' by Brooks Brown. Of course, because you didn't read that, you made up bullshit to fill in the holes of what you assumed happened on that day.
First off, you didn't even scratch the surface of the 'why' question. The character 'Dane' in your animation, which is a character meant to portray Brooks, DID NOT see Eric and Dylan in bulletproof vests and carrying guns when he left after 4th hour Chinese philosophy. He saw them dressed in their somewhat usual attire, black clothing. They had bulletproof jackets underneath, and they were carrying their weapons in duffelbags.
Second, you didn't get the video games deal. Third, you missed the mark on the 'Do you believe in God'. I'd love to tell you why, but my 4096 character limit is about up.
I know what you're gonna say, I just don't give a-
This movie is totally awesome. I read in your comments, particularly that the artist condemns their actions, and payed extra attention not to let the viewer sympathize with the teens. In my oppinion these individuals did teens all over the world a great deed. I know that there are a lot of people that would cuss me out to my face for saying this, but maybe they should have thought more about helping these individuals, rather than sitting around and watching; that goes for EVERYBODY- it is our own faults that we let this shit go on, because we are the ones that don't help put a stop to this. Nobody can -accidentally- be THAT oblivious to what is going on with somebody. I raise my glass to those two boys, and any other oppressed "freak" that has sacrificed their life to teach a lesson to everybody. School shootings aren't a form of terrorism, they're just about the loudest freaking cry for help that you can find; and the sad thing is, people still aren't hearing them.
