Reviews for "The Big Fat Tutorial"

w00t! i am the saviour!

Best tutorial i have ever seen! I will save this so i can use this when i start flash. Very nice effects.

Helbereth responds:

Well hopefully it will help lots of people. It has beginner, moderate and advanced techniques. There's also easter eggs (did I forget to mention that?) hidden all around (there's 3 fully developed eggs and a few random eggs thrown in during the tutorial).

nice one

excellent tutorial... probably the best one i've ever seen.
to anybody learning flash, take my advice, watch this tutorial. it will definitely help you out in making flash work.

Helbereth responds:

Not only a good review, but a reccomendation for people to see this!

Tom, Wade, are you listening!?

*humble pause*

Cool

Pretty cool, good to have some guide lines for people who have no clue how to use flash.

Helbereth responds:

Guide lines? Nah. This is just useful information people can adjust to their liking. I think most everyone that opens Flash for the first time has no clue what they're doing. This should help them get over some annoying hurdles.

Helpful but annoying at some points

Overall it was extremely helpful and i have learnt quite a bit from it, but what annoyed me was the Faires and the crashing plane, they werent really necesary, but thats all that got to me. The rest was perfect

Helbereth responds:

Most of that I made to keep myself interested while working on the descriptions etc..

Look at the credits... they're completely overdone, but I had fun making them.

Even though it's clunky, it helped.

This tutorial was very informative for me, it really helped a lot.
I finally figured out the faux 3D stuff in the Composition Tutorial.
If you build up the scene like Helbereth says and then tween the camera across, everything will move at the same speed. You have to tween the planes, not the camera.
I still have problems with masking though.
