Reviews for "The Big Fat Tutorial"

it was a pretty good tutorial

was the faked 3d a part of the scripted camera? i didnt see it in the script of the camera.or are those seperate motion tweens. although i know how to make a flash animation. this tutorial was fun to look at even if you know nothing about flash. i gues you should make more tutorials cause it was fun and maybe no more dont blamm me cause its first atempt guys

Helbereth responds:

The fake 3D is all mostion tweens. You can use the camera to move up and down or to move through faster, but it doesn't control objects.

I really get annoyed with the folks that say 'it's my first time don't blam me'. It's an invitation to blam them. Maybe this will help some of them to improve their content before making that leap.

Thanks for the review!

an act of love to art

I have no idea about how to create a flash movie but that's a great tutorial. It really encourages guys like me to go on and start trying to use this mean as a way to exprese one's creativity

Helbereth responds:

Flash is versatile and loaded with options... but can tend to be intimidating. One might liken it to an artist going from a pencil and paper to a full set of brushes, acryllics and a 40 foot canvas. It's hard to get your head around it in a technical sense.

that's would be very helpful for me that...

i'd appreciate it for your work, it's may very big helpful for me and everyone, so u should make more tutorials so i can learining more things from your Flash tutorials, just let me know if u have some good, easier, example of tutorials, alright? give ya full of score 10/10. Very excellent work!!! :)

Helbereth responds:

I'll take this as "Very good, make more!"

Thanks for the review!

Thanks.

Very well put together, some good music choices, and some good pointers. Well done.

Helbereth responds:

Thanks for the short, complimentary review!

Thank you...

I haven't yet submitted my own flash to Newgrounds, but I've been messing around with Macromedia Flash for a while. Thanks for giving me the pointers. I'm still very new at everything and I need a lot of practice, but I know your tips will help out a ton. Especially the motion guide lines and actionscript box. I'm a little disappointed that you didn't tell any more, but it's very true; you can't be giving out all of your secrets. I really like the way that you left it open for anybody to experiment with their own ideas though. This flash deserves to be in the top 50. It's a helpful reference for any flash artist, and that's what Newgrounds is about, isn't it? Good Job.

Helbereth responds:

I wanted to tell people how to do things I wondered about when I got past my weaning stage (somewhere between motion tweens and drawing backgrounds I wanted to know if flash had easy ways to do different things). So, I set out to figure out (through trial and error) how to use the tools available. I soon learned that a lot of the tools were easy to use.... but since nobody ever explained how to use them people just didn't know. I hope to remedy that (and dispel some myths in the process).

Thanks for the review!
