I was moved by the protagonist's plight. The end makes sense to me. Even th disco (though I must admit my dislike of disco).

The nest was the scene when he's hunched over with all the spikes! Very dark...

Well edited & expressed. Having that particular 'punch line' after the brutal impalings was oddly effective.
