o..k...
this movie was actully pretty scary. The way they tortured him like that and im still trying to figure out why that womens "smile" started cracking. Nice only the end..........that was VERY out of place. O well. Great though!
Well, it was something.
PD711 hit the nail on the head. I was thinking many of the exact things they pointed out, except for the part at the end when the tormentors were partying and having sex. I couldn't make heads or tails of it. Peer pressure is an ugly thing, and that's what this video is about, more or less. It does seem to be more than a little bit on the biased side, it's clear to see how the tormented feels, and it's a foregone conclusion what's going to become of him, and perhaps it's a clear view of how the creator of the flash feels about popular people and how they seem to control the fates of other, less popular people, but then again, when popular people are as the tormentors of this video, being able to decide whether you're in or not, in this case, whether you live or die, I suppose you don't need to be objective.
Brutal, Angst-filled look at fitting in...
Animation was fantastic. The sound was absolutely crucial to the mood. I understand the main character and his emotions come streaming through.
I think I may be one of the few that "got" the ending.
The tormentors are the "normal" people, the "popular crowd" so many of us have had to deal with in high school. They, through pressure that can lead to total excommunication, try to force others into their view of how people should behave, on such a level that emotional people are forced to hide the truth of how they feel.
the tormentors are having sex and partying because that's what they DO... they are hedonists. They are robots because they are simply going through the motions proving to each other and themselves that they are happy and normal.
I disagree with how he paints the tormentors... making them robotic leaves them with no souls, which is why the sex seems so nonsensical. A complete lack of empathy and understanding of the tormentors. Also, I am a little annoyed with the apparent detest of popular fashion/name brands. People should wear what they like. It makes it seem like the author is pointing at people who dress like that in particular. The kinds of people who do this don't just look like that. I know I have tried to fit in with some groups and was dismissed, even though they thought of themselves as the "accepting" and "unpopular" crowd.
This fits that little french word for dark.
