This is a great game, and entirely true. All of those quotes are EXACT. I should know, I have extremely religious family members. Don't let my name fool you, I ain't a bible totin' soulless braindead Christian or Catholic or Jew or Muslim or any of that. None of the religions are right, and I have GREAT fuckin' evidence.
1: Religion was created wayyyy back in the BC era, back before we had science or an advanced knowledge of nature.
2: When Christianity came into play, it was used to control people. Even the Romans used it as a way to control and unify their empire. Also, just a lil side note thinking of the BC era... when's God gonna purify the world or send a prophet? If you ask me, our current world makes the BC era look squeeky fuckin' clean.
3: Notice how when we learned how to build hot air balloons, blimps, air planes, etc. how religion changed God from a being to an entity?
4: "Thou shalt not kill" has never been a problem to any of the religions. The inquisitions, the Crusades, the Jihads, etc etc.
5: Look at religious people now. They're paranoid because we're discovering how planets are made. We've proven how planets are created. Oh and to all you religious fanatics, instead of threatening me with hell (because I wouldn't mind it, I enjoy hot places, plus I'm a pyromaniac) and such, don't ask me "how the Universe was created". There's no beggining and no end to the unvierse, and that means NO end as in it won't end, ever. You're pretty conceited if you think that time is going to end when we die. When the human race dies out, nobody'll fuckin' know it out there, oh, and no, we are NOT alone.
Oh and by the way, I'm still waiting for God to smite me for all of the sins I've commited. =). I ain't seen shit happen yet. Religion was created to sooth insecurities and bring simple answers to highly complex questions and problems, and most of all... to control people. Religion has always been (except in the Jewish's case) and always will be used to control, punish, and scare people and to steal from, horrorfy, and traumatize people. There's an easy explanation for heaven and hell, God and Satan.
Heaven and God = Where you go if you kiss the nice priests' asses and do what they say when they say.
Hell and Satan: Where you go if you disobey God or more importantly, the priests. Remember, God made Hell because he'll send you there to burn, suffer, scream, and cry in agony and pain and all of that for all of eternity... but it's because he loves you... :).
