What your just talking about mogly is what im so bad at with animating! I just have as many frames as possible and try and make it smooth when really it looks better like you said.

Drew this up for this Chicago Botanic Garden contest -
always behind schedule.
You know things are seriously on the verge of getting out of control when you start finding yourself having to not only go to the art store, but Home Depot as well in order to find the rest of your painting materials.
I think the challenge though is to keep it from getting too obnoxious.
Anyone else think I've been playing too much Silent Hill?... I don't! >=)
Here we go, in reverse order:
cheshirepus: Not sure what to think about that. I definitely see the Silent Hill resemblance. Very interesting thing that is. I take it it's some type of paint and then metal over top?
ConAir: Diggin' the tree. What's the goal of the contest?
misterdog: Love the shading on that one, and interesting choice making it all sepia-like.
mynamewontfitin: Man, how boring is that class? :P Looks very awesome. I take it it's just a pencil? And do people near you think you're crazy?
Mogly: I have noticed that in a lot of your animations or pictures you have weird bends and lots of slightly squiggly lines. Interesting style. I take it that's for a Pico Day submission?
Snubby: Grats on the series page. That's a nice looking header you have there. Was it done just in Flash with the blur and such effects? Or did you use some other program (Photoshop, Firefox, etc.) for it?

That's a shame... that droplet render looks fabulous.
This is what I was on about up the page.
Go up the building by running to it and pressing up. Jump off, then the transition between the run and the fall is what I was doing. It's really subtle but without it it would be weird.
Codering by Pyscosis btw, and the whole thing is clearly not done yet.

I see what you're saying. Also, that is looking awesome (the character animation mainly, since there isn't much else). Is the whole game going to be played as Darnell? Or will it be played with the others as well? (Unless you want to keep all of that secret, in which case, I never asked :P)
I drew this in pencil, it's the Diablo 2 game cover. Good version

Cheers. Well, I really don't know. It'll be a Darnell game for sure, but I don't really know what the plan is. Stay tuned regardless :)
It's my first photoshop colored thingie...

I really like the coloring style you have on here, makes it feel very watercolor-ish - Almost like you did it right on the actual paper. The only beef I have with it is that it's a little too sketchy in some areas, perhaps you could've cleaned it up a bit or something. But don't get me wrong, I think it's a really nice piece you have here and it'd be cool to see something else you made in the same type of style.
always behind schedule.
here somethin I just made in photoshop with the brush tool.
wow... a whole day.... dare I ask for comments?
In reverse order:
EKublai: Very interesting picture. I am guessing it is supposed to be something like a skull. The colours are definitely different, and I'm not sure I like it too much, personally. It looks good in some spots, like the purple around the eyes, and the colour above the eyes, but I don't much like the middle section.
misterdog: Awesome picture. The colouring looks very nice, and it's a unique little creation. Beats the heck outta my first Photoshop job.
Damian: Looks great, considering it was just done pencil-and-paper style. Looks a little like he's leaning to the right to me, but I haven't looked at the D2:LoD cover in a while, so I can't say how it's supposed to be.
Seems this thread's been dying for a while, I guess to the art forum. Hopefully it stays alive, though, even though it's going so slow right now.
Interesting. I actually lik,e the middle part the best.

Thanks Fuzz. ^^
It turned out pretty good, though I really wanted to to a background. But it started to lag so frickin' much, so it was impossible. :P
Just posted this in my art thread and I might as well post it here too.

Looking pretty decent for a first try with it. It pretty much needs work overall, but places that seem to stand out are the hands and shading. Not everything is shaded correcly, and the hands just need to look s little less like a plain circle with lines running down them. Good though, well done.
I for one am still working on them females....how is it?

Her eyes are pretty high up and make her look like a horse. I think a good place to start with when drawing girls is thinking about the cheeks and the shape to them.

I noticed her eyes were to high after finishing, i was not to happy. And i was having some trouble with the nose, and while i thought it came out "ok", i definanlty needed work. And im not to sure how to start then off thinking about there cheeks...i start with simply the shape of the head, never do put much thought into cheeks. Thanks.

Right. When you draw a picture, do you have some big point to it and then really do it for the end result, or say that for example did you just do it for a laugh?
Try just doing proper full on loads of lines and scribble as your drawing it rather than keeping it neat and stuff. Like this below. Don't use a rubber either.
Yea i have trouble with hands.I'm working on it though.I'm not too familiar with how to shade so i'm gonna need to work on it some more.
