Does it look like a chick yet or what?

Not to much. When I draw women I always think curvy and use as little lines as possible. If you're not gunna colour it it's even cooler to leave bits to the imagination and just draw the essentials.
Here is a good tutorial, although I don't remember where I got this or who showed me. http://ratcreature.livejournal.com/175099.htm l . It's a long page, but intresting. It will put ideas and suggestions in your head.

I just had a quick read, seems interesting. i will have a better look later today. Thanks for that.

Really cool, nice textures.

So you made the lines nearly invisible?
I think he meant that you should make the lines thinner.

i can see them find on paper, but they did scan poorly. i cant help that.

I wish I had a copy of Rocky 3 so I could learn how to draw male packages.
Very nice :D keep it up

Of course you can´t help that. But it´s obviously very hard to tell if the drawing looks good when when you nearly can´t see it. But your scanner should not behave like that.
:Shouldn't this thread be moved now? I mean there is a Art forum nowAdays.
No, that is a bad ideá! I don´t really like the art forum you see.

i am damn tired of posting in the art forum and having next to no replys. anyway, here is my first try at making a 3D face in Maya.

It's clear that you can three-dimensionally model, all you need is help with anatomy and proportions. Keep in mind, that from the front view, the eyes should be pretty much in the middle of the face. You eyes are a little high, and there isn't enough of a forehead there to make it look natural.
FANTASTIC first start though. I definitely see this going somewhere.

Yeah I think your definitely headed in the right direction, I've tried to model faces in the past in Maya and it is DAMN hard. Nice use of textures and everything too, that was always hard to pull off for me.
always behind schedule.

the nose is much to long as well. it seems all those problems could be fixed by simply moving the eyes down. that would make them in the middle, shorten the nose, and give more of a forehead, fixing all my problems. thanks for the input.

It is very hard when you start off. I would never have seen myself making something like this 4 months ago. I would have assumed i was no where near this quality. Even though its far from perfect.
And i got the textures from a guy from class. Just took pictures of his head on all directions and pasted it all onto the texture. Rurned out well, except the hair, which looks alright from that angle, but like a very bad wig from the bad.

i deafinantly learned from my mistakes. on this i just drew someones face myself and whent from there. when i should have been modeling after a real person, to make it more realistic, and like you mention, just get the general shape right. which was way off on this first try.
thanks for all the comments guys. i really appreciate it. i was expecting alot more "what the hell is that?" and "it looks like an alien!", but i guess i was wrong. My next try will be much better, you will see.

It was originally for a collab, but the collab died.
Comments are always appreciated.
So I'm guessing all hope has been lost for the Why I Like Robins collab huh.
I'd say finish it, but put it out on it's own right, as in don't go hardcore on it but just take your time. Um. From what you've got right now I think it'd be lost among all the Valentines day submissions and plus I think it'd get more attention if it was submitted some other time. Keep it up though, I'd love to see it done.

Meta?
paint actually used correctly..i was bored
People take squiggles and lines and relate them to feelings or everyday images and we call it art. The artist is teh one taht makes these squiggles based on the feelings and objects he sees around him/her. Damn it im so mad!

It was a bit on the short side, but it was beautifully done with all the details.
A golden star for the terrific ending. :D

To everyone who commented on my movie:
Thanks again guys, my movie got a bigger response than I could've hoped for and I'm sure it wouldn't have gotten there without your help (regardless if you just sat there and pressed the 5 button, that's still helping). So thanks to all, and um, you can expect the same thing from me the next time you have a movie out.
Aaand, I wish I had a picture to post or something get us back on track...but I don't.
