I must admit i use Paint for lots of things, but only really for assembling or cropping images - i use fireworks to add text and compress it. im nowhere near anyone else.

I think you both missed my point. I wasn't flaming SquirrelMonki, nor was I suggesting that you have to be a good sig maker to work in the Amature thread.
I was only saying that no matter how good you are with paint, the sigs will always suck. To make a half decent sig, you need something more than MS Paint. Which is why I left the links for Photoshop and GIMP.
GIMP is a free program that takes up less than 12MB. Everyone should download it as an alternative to paint. I would be more than happy to help anyone who downloads Photoshop, but like I said... MS Paint = CRAP..... unless you're Chromius, who could produce an awesome signature using the Windows Calculator or Excel or something.

I have a bitmap I'm trying to put into my sig, but I can't get it in! Can you guys tell me how? Also I did it once, but it still had the annoying white box around it, how can I get rid of that? Keep in mind this is all taking place in Adobe Photoshop. Please give detailed instructions :-)

First, make sure the canvas is the right size. When you made the document, make sure the canvas was 400 pixels wide by 60 pixels down.
Secondly, export as a jpg.
To do this, go to file/save optimized
then select jpg from drop down menu

Open the BMP in Photoshop, CTRL+A to select the BMP, CTRL+C to copy it. Then switch to the signature canvas, CTRL+V to paste the BMP on the sig. CTRL+T if you need to resize it.
As for getting rid of the line around it, the obvious way would be to erase it with the eraser. Alternatively, CTRL+click on the little thumbnail in the layers palatte of the BMP so that it selects the outline of the image, then go to SELECT>MODIFY>CONTRACT by 2 or 3 pixels, CTRL+SHIFT+i to select the inverse, then just hit DELETE.

1) Your to spesific and getting exactly what you want will be hard and take alot of effort
