At some point it's going to get trimmed yeah. The ranking I'm tracking down to has more than doubled, so the next obvious cut would be to do Captains only and hope that the people I had stalled at 1,001 are still stalled there so I can use them as markpoints. As time passes and people like HT (1 per day) actually manage to accumulate BPs, it'll get cut to just the EG with me only doing Captains to find out who the moving blank is. I really hope to put it off as long as possible, but it's going to happen sometime.

To keep n00bs from snagging it and using it as "their" site on geocities or whatever. Intellectual property gets stolen all the time on the web, but why make it easy for the up and coming thieves? Um... I don't know what you THINK I had to do to see the message, but it showed up straight away when I entered your site. While the page was loading, the top of it had a black background with that message on it, and was replaced with the green stuff once it was loaded.

Also, that new Fan-net icon you have placed under the navigational buttons is out of sight. I had to press F11 to enter full-screen mode to see it. The scroller only scrolled the text, not that part of the page. I think you've done that scroller thing on purpose, which makes the page more stylish, but I could still only see the top part of that image-link-thingy.

Thanks. I haven't had the chance to test out various monitor sizes to make sure everything is cosmetically where I want it to be, but I should have know that would end up off screen on 6x8. As it stands, the Fan Net link isn't working anyway so it's kind of moot and I'm going to leave it where it is.

I think the issue is that my homepage is Base.html, but it's just framing code that kicks off the site. When I had it at the bottom of the news it was coming from Main.html and where I have it now it's coming from left.html. If the server is actually checking to see where the input came from, that's the problem and I'll likely have to reframe everything to get it to work. At that point I'll shift it someplace smaller screen views can see it.

On my first go through I found about 10 people on the border of ranking up. If they haven't (and you know who you are) ranked up by the time I finish moving the cell referents around, they'll have to wait for next week to get listed. 60 rank-ups in a week is more than enough ;-)

Same here. After I posted here I went back to see how far down we had pushed the first blank and was really surprised to see it up there. I though worst case was in the low 100s. Next after that is 122 which is probably that old #6X that was missing then a cluster around 150. If nothing else it lets people ballpark what they need to pass the blanks.

The "Full List" is everyone I've kept a PID on, from Police Lieutenants with 739 BPs on up. The first thing getting hacked off are the Lieutenants. I'll keep the Captains as long as I can, simply to keep blank spots from sneaking onto the EG list, but at the rates people are gainging even those will have to go at some point. You're already above two cuts as EG so I can't see how you couldn't get above a third before I have to make it.

I would make one suggestion regarding the list. When you announce an update on the website generate a post here that makes the new update obvious. Its a bit easy to miss the update announcement amoungst all your posts. Given the great effort you put in, there should be a bit more fanfare surrounding it.

It's all done on a spreadsheet. If you looked at it normally from day to day, you'd see rank, PID link, name, PID link, total, blams, and finally saves. Hidden are all the precodings for the table and, as it constantly shifts with a new list, I want until I've copied it over to the Rankings page to change GAIN and AVG to actual forumlae. There's a lot of copy&paste and find&replace going on lol

What I'd love is a program that looked up all the profiles automatically and spat out a list of the numbers I need, preferably directly into the spreadsheet, but that's the pipe dream of every list maker lol. Most of the time involved in making the list is in pulling up the profile, then finding the information, with the usual lags while NG and/or my ISP stall. Like I said, this was kind of a learning curve for me as well, same as when I first posted the list ... just a matter of finding what method has the most features I want to use while retaining as much fast as possible.

You've got a copy of the spread so you have an idea where I stuffed all the table tags. Here's one line from the spread ... columns CL through EV. Hidden so not shown are columns containing line break tags for posting into the full list, and the second PID link, Blam, and Save columns from the working sheet. Where you see =XXX I've changed the number the spread shows to the forumla that makes it show up. Obviously < and > are changed to [ ] for posting.

This particular one was someone who both ranked up and was on a 6 day, so ended up being bold and italicized. The spacing is from the column changeover when transcribed to text and the big gaps are from blank columns where I would have put the [u] and [/u] tags if they got over 50 or over 100/day. Anyway, that gives you an idea why the list is over 400k lol
